Logging Into Tapatalk on Mobile Devices
« on: October 09, 2013, 03:00:27 PM »

OK, I had some trouble finding out how to log into Tapatalk after I heard that the forum was available on that app. I decided to post how I was able to log into the forum. This works on both Android and iOS. I have no idea if the app has the same interface in Windows Phone or not.

When you install the app, don't go straight into the "accounts" tab on the left. It doesn't work. Instead, you have to go to "Explore" and look up "AARoads forum" in the search bar. The forum will come up, and you can login by tapping on the login icon.

Regarding Windows Phone, I can confirm. Unfortunately, the operating system does not allow taking screenshots. :( I might need to get myself an Android.

Just logged in on the Android Tapatalk app (type "aaroads" in search box). Hadn't used Tapatalk in a while, and initially, it wouldn't let me use the beta version of the app. There is a free version of the latest Tapatalk  available to download in Play Store. However, for owners of older phones, or people that don't like the new interface, they still have the 'classic' version available for download, which is roughly 1/3 of the size and works well:

(requires installation of non-market apps selected in settings)

Can we wordfilter " iPhone - now Free" (and whatever the equivalent is on other devices) into blank?

There's an option within the app itself to remove that on the user's end, at least on Android.

Oh heck yeah!

The problem has a simple fix. Just go to your signature options in Tapatalk, then check "no signature."

I'm sorry I didn't know about this before.

Fortunately, you can just edit it out of your post.

Interestingly, it can find threads that you failed to read ("Unread") that are 3-6 months old, which is almost like a random thread selector.

Better be careful posting that. Somebody might counterfeit it.

I just logged in through Tapatalk myself, and at first it was trying to use that account to create a new forum account. But the second time, I got in.

Heh. I have a $100,000,000,000,000 banknote from Zimbabwe. It's worthless except as a collectible! So I can't fathom how infinitesimal the value of a $1 bill must be!

Does anyone else here have an Android phone and having issues getting the forum to load on tapatalk?  I downloaded the tapatalk app and can find AARoads forum on there, but I can't get it to load.  I have tried uninstalling the app then reinstalling it twice and I still can't get it to load.  I touch the AARoads forum and it just says "loading".  I left my phone idle for well over an hour, and when I unlocked the screen lo and behold it was still loading.  I'm getting frustrated.

Do you have an older handset? A lower-end one? Try the old version, Tapatalk Classic. I actually like it better:

I wouldn't call it old.  I have the Samsung Galaxy S3, but I'll try downloading the older version of tapatalk.  Thanks for the advice.

We've just upgraded the Tapatalk forum software to 4.0.1.  Please let us know if you have any problems getting into the forum via the Tapatalk app.

So that's why it shows 10,000 unread messages.

I'm guessing yes.  No way around that as you are required to uninstall and then reinstall when upgrading to a new version. :(

I am not having any luck accessing the forum via Tapatalk since, about the 11th rather coincidentally.

I'm on an LG G3 running Android 4.4.2. I still receive notifications when my posts are quoted, but I cannot access the posts themselves.

My old iPhone is able to access the forum, however. It is running iOS 7.
