Hello from Northern Virginia!
« on: December 19, 2020, 02:37:36 AM »

Hi y'all! I'm cb98...always been a roadgeek, even since I was a little kid. I like to photograph road signs (and other fun things along the way) and have really made it a hobby of mine in the past year or so.

I currently live in northern Virginia and am a native of Baltimore, MD. I could talk for hours about how I always was (and still am) fascinated by the Road to Nowhere and the other roads of the Baltimore metro area (and yes, we call all the interstates "the Beltway" lol...)

Anyways, I'm excited to be here and looking forward to posting more! :)

Welcome from Massachusetts!

Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

Hey, you're not far from me! I live ninety minutes from the DC area; looks like you haven't moved far either.

Curious - do you know the story behind the abandoned roads in Leakin Park? I've never been able to find conclusive answers.

Welcome from So Cal.  I used to travel to Northern VA several times a year, though further inland.
I would drive parts of the Fairfax County Parkway back when it had a 4-digit number (7100?)

Yup! I still feel like I'm living in Baltimore since I'm up there almost every weekend :-D But honestly I'm not too sure about that. I can look into it some and see...I'm very much curious about that now that you mention it.

Thanks! I've been on the FCP a few times since I've moved here. IIRC, the very small "OLD 7100" signs are still up on I-66 as of a few months ago along with the newer VA-286 signs.
