Round Here Counting Crows. This Video has some Los Angeles streets in the video

PHLBOS

In the Jaws movie, following the pond/estuary attack scene (the severed leg); one does see the Massachusetts-style bookleaf town-line sign in the distance at 1:35 in the below-movie-clip (Brody running to the estuary to save his son).  It's tough to read, but based on the mapping; the sign is located at the Edgartown/Oaks Bluff border.  The bridge is referred to as the Jaws Bridge

Not a highway sign, however there's a mention of I-67 in this Garfield strip.

That "bingo" really did add up...LOL!

US 101 is THE backbone of the Pacific coast from Bandon OR to Willits CA.  Industry, tourism and local traffic would be gone or severely crippled without it being in functioning condition in BOTH states.

The American version of Insomnia (2002) is set in Alaska, but has this curved mast arm and only one signal which gives away its BC location.  Also, it's flashing yellow to indicate that it is at night, which the filmmakers needed to do to indicate night where there is all-day brightness above the Arctic Circle.  I've never seen idle BC signals flash yellow, so they must have specially rigged up this signal.  There's also a single solid yellow line.

Edit: The Google Street View range from 2009 to 2014 indicates this intersection never had a signal in that date range.

I would have watch that on mute and in private mode so that it doesn't hit my suggested play list.

We did a article on Gribblenation about Hill Valley and the infamous US 8/US 395 sign assembly seen in 1985:

I remember looking at one of the fictional Hill Valley maps and it seems to indicate somewhere in Grass Valley or Auburn area east of Sacramento.

The late Darryl Dragon used to do the same thing with his electronic keyboard on "The Captain & Tennille Show," but he used to face whatever direction he was moving in.

And I don't remember him using the theme from National Geographic Specials as a sample.

An installment of the comic strip Frazz by Jef Mallett:

This is from a BBC documentary called "I Can Go For That, The Smooth World of Yacht Rock", which had some 70's stock footage mostly of California freeways, but also had this 4 tier road.  Looks like a surface street on the bottom, 3 lanes freeway in one direction on the next level, 3 lanes freeway in the other direction on the next, then what appears to be a park on the top:

Anyone know where this is?  I think the BQE near the Brooklyn Bridge has a similar setup.

D-Dey65

Yeah, that looks more like the BQE to me.

This scene from the 1978 disaster movie "Avalanche."

Why would a dead end street contain a "No U Turn" sign underneath? Do they want people who drive on that road to get stuck there forever?

The Black Crowes' Wiser time. I've enjoyed this song for over 20 years; never knew there was a video for this song.

Plenty of state welcome signs (Iowa and Oklahoma) and some shield action for I-35 in Kansas City and US 385, et al...

I'm pretty sure nearly everyone reading this post has watched Forrest Gump.

At North Carolina's Grandfather Mountain, there is a "Forrest Gump Curve" that celebrates Forrest's run across the country and the spot where one of the numerous scenes that made up the montage from his three year, two month, 14 day, 16 hour run was filmed.

And a cool little story from the filming of that scene as well.

These come from the episode "The Man Who Knew Too Little" of the 90s crime comedy-drama Due South, set in Chicago but made in Canada. In this episode, they're transporting a criminal to Windsor, Ontario via I-94.

Direction is beneath the shield (which I think is normal for Ontario), and the shoulder is gravel.

Ray gets impatient with the other cars and decides to pass on the (gravel) shoulder. And had to dodge a guide sign.

Apparently you have to watch out for guide signs in the shoulder. The signs themselves look good (actual Highway Gothic, though all uppercase) and I think the destinations and distances are somewhat realistic.

What they're calling I-194 looks more like an I-94 business loop.

I forget if these have been mentioned before, but the 1956 Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis movie "Hollywood or Bust" had some scenes featuring a real New Jersey US 22 shield & mileage sign, as well as some BGS for US 66 & US 99 (Hollywood Freeway).
https://exquisitelyboredinnacogdoches.blogspot.com/2008/01/hollywood-or-bust-locations.html
It also featured a neat looking covered bridge that I had been trying for years to figure out where it was located. I finally found out that the covered bridge featured in the movie was called the Orrs Bridge, that it was located in Cumberland Co, PA near Camp Hill, PA, also that it crossed the Conodoguinet Creek & also that it was replaced in 1957 (About a year after the movie came out.) with a Beam bridge.

Scene featuring the Covered Orr Bridge. (Bridge appears at about 1:43.)

There is also a scene in this movie that features the MacArthur Bridge in St. Louis, MO (Back when cars could still travel on it.), along with another bridge that's somewhere in Missouri (I don't know where), some other unidentified Missouri highway scenes, along with some other interesting highway scenes. (If possible, I would like to know where these scenes were filmed.)

Also, the 1999 Disney movie "The Straight Story" features some real US 18 as well as US 63 shields along with some real county highway shields as well as the Black Hawk Bridge across the Mississippi River near Lansing, IA.

These are two of my favorite movies.

In Bohemian Rhapsody on their first American tour it shows their buses going down a two lane road and shows a GA-11 sign.

It's called the "Triple Cantilever" and its plans were actually included in NY's 1956 plans for its Interstates.

However, it is due for some major work and NYSDOT and NYCDOT are still negotiating how it will be funded and when the work will actually take place.
