Title: North Dumfries Township Road Shields
Post by: 7/8 on September 07, 2016, 04:31:27 PM
I happened to find these today at Gore Rd and Township Road 17 in North Dumfries, ON (https://www.google.ca/maps/place/2028+N+Dumfries+Twp+Rd+17,+Cambridge,+ON+N1R+8K2/@43.3884047,-80.2617238,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x882b87ee78163a25:0x2bc1cb02f3ac067f!8m2!3d43.3884193!4d-80.2606548).

These really surprised me; I thought the flowerpot shape was only used for county/regional roads? I also know that the Township of Woolwich (also in Waterloo Region) uses circlular markers for township roads, but I've only seen them on street blades. An example is this sign for Apple Grove Rd (Township Rd 39) at King St (https://www.google.ca/maps/place/1001+Apple+Grove+Rd,+Waterloo,+ON+N2J+3Z4/@43.5083291,-80.5576967,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x882bf170f083f059:0xb84a7c9479fdca35!8m2!3d43.5083412!4d-80.5567165):

Does anyone know if there are other township roads which use the flowerpot shields, or have any other interesting photos to share?
