I was on US-385 for about 100 feet in Julesburg, CO.

Out what I can remember CA 225, which also happened to be a clinch of what's left:

Travel Mapping shows that of European route E67, which runs from Tallinn, Estonia, to the outskirts of Prague, I have 0.43 miles of a total 1037.43 miles. The 0.43 miles represents the distance from the route's northern terminus at the cruise ship and ferry docks in Tallinn to the road that encircles the historic city center.

Much closer to home, I've been on VA-79 for a total of 0.17 miles, which also happens to be a clinch of that road.

State Highway: TX54 - 0.04 Miles
US Route: US197 - 0.29 Miles
2di: I-43 - 7.5 miles
3di: I-295 (MD/DC) - 0.8 Miles

I only keep track of Interstates, so, at least by TM:

I-395 Washington Village, MD spur: .52 miles, clinched. (meh)

I-110 in TX: .8 of 1.13 miles.

I-29: 1.58 miles.

Probably someplace where I exited a freeway for gas or something and then got right back on. I've taken enough long road trips and random exits that the number of tiny segments of state routes I've obtained this way is not worth keeping track of, but I've been known to do this with US highways intersecting interstates simply to say I'd been on them. My very short mileage on US 43, 73, 81, 136, 159, 177, 266, and 611 all falls into that category.

Outside of stuff like that...I've clinched all 0.085 miles (450 feet) of unsigned Utah 231.

Does the road have to be long and you have only been on a small section of it, or what if the road itself is short?

Based on the OP, I would say the former.

Doing searches on TM turned up

0.01 mi of Kentucky 2270, which has an tiny overlap with US 431 (https://www.google.com/maps/@37.1567546,-87.0308148,18.22z).

0.02 mi of Texas SH 125, as an overlap of SH 214 (https://www.google.com/maps/@33.6222422,-102.7985827,18.64z). Even the signage ignores the 100-foot concurrency:

Not counting instances where I just get off the interstate to get gas right at the end of the ramp.  I don't track those; plus too many to count.

Here is my Honor Roll (or is it Dishonor Roll?):

SC 414 0.06 miles (about 300 feet)Overall
US 11E0.11 miles(US highways)
US 440.41 miles(US Highways non-suffixed)
I-7870.86 miles(Interstate highways)
I-117.76 miles(2d Interstate highways)

And for good measure:

VA 79 0.17 miles(shortest highway I have clinched 100%)

Did this one on a trip to the Apple House in Linden, but I wasn't even aware that I was clinching it.  I've also got VA-6Y in Nelson County (0.2 miles) and WV-807 (St. Marys Hi Carpenter Bridge, 0.35 miles).

The historical leader on this front for me was IA 210, which I was on for the one block overlap with IA 17 in Madrid, but I have subsequently been on the section between US 69 and I-35 (or more accurately,  the Kum n Go on the east side of the interchange).

The short segment of WI 113 that is on N. First St. in Madison is probably the current leader. This was a byproduct of the day I saw the Foo Fighters at Kohl Center there, trying to get back to my hotel.

I did the same with I-19 (took the first exit south of I-10 and did it all metricly) so I guess that's my answer.

Bump.
I have only been on I-490 in New York from the western end to Exit 1, which is like maybe 1/2 mile.
For NY 36, I have only been on the tiny portion concurrent with US 20A/NY 39. According to Wikipedia that distance is only 0.14 miles.

I've never kept track of the random places I've exited interstates for gas/food/hotel. I'm sure there are several routes that I've been on for < 0.25 miles, but of everything that I've tracked, the full 0.25 mile length of IN 520 would be the shortest distance. The 0.30 miles of KY 212 between KY 20 and the outer loop ramps of I-275 is a close second.
Title: Re: Highway that you have been on, but for the shortest distance

My policy for TM is that I will count the route I used to access fuel/food/rest stop adjacent to the interstate if a) I used an entire loggable segment, or b) I used part of a loggable segment that's less than 1/2 mile in length. I would also be prepared to log a longer segment as a placeholder if I needed the route number for "lowest route number you haven't been on", such as if I ever made such a stop on a route 47 or 68 (which I'm currently missing).
Title: Re: Highway that you have been on, but for the shortest distance
Post by: webny99 on August 05, 2022, 08:13:51 PM
My shortest logged segment in Travel Mapping is easily the 0.02 miles of MN 292 between its western junction with US 61/63 and E 7th St. I used that tiny segment essentially to turn around/backtrack on E 7th St due to missing an earlier turn.

Of course, MN 292 is only 0.48 miles in total, which leads to the very odd situation of my having been on less than 5% of a route less than a mile long.

This means the route shows up as red under "routes closest to clinched". I've wondered if I'm the only one to have a red route in that category (most are obviously blue/green due to being close to clinched, but in this case, 0.46 miles is not close to being clinched in percentage terms!)

The one I remember, without diving into my TM statistics, is about 100 feet of Nebraska 121. That was between Nebraska 12 and the first gas station driveway, which I used to snap a photo of the Nebraska 12 and 121 signs (http://www.alaskaroads.com/NE12-121-jct-101_9900.jpg).

I did not dare make a point request for that driveway.

Less than 1000 feet of MN 106, 139, 238 and WI 105 and 243; I think MN 238 in Albany is my shortest one. I thought it might have been the tiny 300 foot concurrency ND 66 with ND 20 south of Munich, but I remembered ND 66 also has a two mile concurrency with U.S. 81 that I've driven on.

I've been on NY 373 from US 9 junction to the first intersection. NY 373 is only about 3 miles long to begin with. There's a road in Indiana that I think was numbered. Not too far from Indianapolis on I-65 to the NW and I only went from the interchange to the Arby's right there. Similar situation on I-55 in Gardner, IL and the SubWay there, and another similar situation on I-79 in Slippery Rock, PA and a SubWay.
EDIT: The PA one is PA 108. The IN one is IN 32. And the IL one is IL 53.

LOL, I have been from one end to the other, driving.
