I used Latex for a while.  Kinda fun, quite a learning curve.  I'm glad it's still around.

This was too perfect to not take out of context.  Capitalization is important, because my mind immediately went somewhere other than the text markup language.

My wife doesn’t read this forum but, if she did, she would have berated me for having a sick mind. I’m glad someone else thought of the same thing I did.

Your wife wouldn't have thought of that herself?  Come on...

For some reason, I love this one:

So what was the reason for bypassing Boulder City rather than upgrading US 93?

Boulder City was in the way.

You all realize that Mr. Kernal of Truth can’t seem to comprehend why people might be upset at the prospect of their home being demolished?  Let’s not forget all the lovely things he’s had to say regarding that exact subject with the San Francisco Bay Area.

I should clarify the angle of my sarcasm.  My motto for the Alternate Kernality that I wrote above is assumed to be what God Emperor Kernalton believes in earnest. Practical reasons for doing something, rooted in helping people, are shunned in the Alternate Kernality; just do the trillion-dollar ideas he thinks will help people because he systematized a whole network of something and took it down a slippery slope he enjoyed.

With that said, see my whole 40-page proposal on how we should renumber the Interstates  :-D  :pan: *self-flagellates

"Freak sardine salad' was something I didn't know that I needed in my life until I had it:

I don't care whether you like it or not.
I hate the merge. The threads are now in uncontrollable and freak sardine salad. They should be de-merged. I don't feel like continuing any of these threads in the current merged state.

You're thinking of anchovies.

Why did you merge all my threads to one thread?

Because you created so many threads that it was starting to seriously annoy everyone else on the forum. Did you know that people occasionally want to read posts that aren't by you?

I also changed it back to what I titled it originally. "My proposals" doesn't mean anything to anyone but you.

I like to present proposals and create many threads. I don't like the merge.
I don't care whether you like it or not.

Honestly, discussion of those niche interests are probably what a lot of this site's creators had in mind when they squeezed this forum out of their collective vagina.

They are crazy with that kind of talk in Yooperland. If we lived under the bridge we'd be in the water.

Not gonna lie, any showerhead does the trick for me as long as it works.

Why not lie and say that you need a specific showerhead?

From "Poiponen13 in one thread":

And I don’t get a island?

It will be one of smaller islands, smaller than the already mentioned islands.

I’m secure in my manhood.  It isn’t the size of the island that counts, it is how you use it.

From when the NFL forking competition was new and someone wasn't even aware it was a competition:

Fork the Cardinals and the Cowboys.
Fork the Packers

GREEN BAY SUCKS!!!!!
BEAR DOWN!!!!

Even better is that it was a correct prediction despite the Packers being expected to make it to the playoffs.

It's not a Genuine AARoads Thread™ if someone doesn't distort the meaning of the original post in the thread, tenderizes it with a dozen mallets, and adds artificial flavoring so it can be into a conversation about Limon or Breezewood.

That thread is certainly an interesting reread.  Especially this bit:

If there were a true need to mass-delete posts, it could be done with a fairly simple SQL query (something like 'drop all from table POSTS where USER_ID = 336' or so). But we tend to not mess around with the database directly due to the risk of unforeseen consequences, and the above-mentioned thread integrity issues.
That certainly turned out to be prophetic.

(how did I quote from a locked thread?  Magic, obviously)
