Anyone who has driven AR 112 through the University of Arkansas probably knows the Maple St/Razorback Rd intersection. There was a 3-way stop, with AR 112 southbound traffic able to turn left to follow AR 112 without stopping. This has stopped now, because someone was hit and they complained to the AHTD, who promptly added the new sign. How many people are going to return to campus this fall and blow through this intersection? If/when that happens, will a well written letter to the AHTD get them to change their mind again?

Link to Google maps of the intersection. Traffic coming from the east formerly did not have to stop.

It has been needed for years, but I guess because it's a state highway (AR 112, formerly AR 16) AHTD saw no need. NB on 112/Razorback, there is a right turn-out with a yield to go east on Maple. I don't think 112 belongs here: truncate it at Wedington/112S, extend 265 to 15th (AR 16) or 6th St Martin Luther King Blvd and quit making 16 an "invisible" route. Let Fayetteville or the UofA worry about everything between MLK and Wedington.

I would just as soon delete AR 112S and move the southern terminus of AR 112 to the Wedington exit. I have written them several times about AR 16 and how they could make the whole area much simpler with a simple rerouting, but have yet to receive an intelligent response. We need to find who in AHTD this lady emailed, they responded in a hurry and actually got things done!  :-D

I have 3 possible contacts. Not sure if I should post them here, tough. PM or e-mail me and I'll share what I have.

Moving 112 onto Wedington would be silly, IMO, but I suppose it would do-able.

I say just truncate it at Wedington like it used to be. Keep Wedington as 112S or make it a spur of 16. I'll shut up now before this digresses into Fictional Highways ;)
