Title: Hwy 36 construction in north Brenham
Post by: longhorn on March 25, 2014, 12:05:35 PM
Why is TxDot putting a light at the north of town at the 36 and business 36/Park street. Why replace an intersection that flows smoothly to a three or four way stop with a stop light..............Idiotic...

This is the only story I could find on the subject, an opinion piece.

I'm glad my daughter doesn't live in Bell County any more. I'm quite familiar with that stretch of road. This is regress.

Where US 290 leaves TX 36 is one of the most poorly signed TOTSO's in the state. I would think that would be a higher priority for TxDOT in Brenham.

Went through here yesterday and the new concrete southbound lanes are being used for both traffic directions. Yet the rebuilt northbound lanes apparently is going to stay pavement and not concrete. Cost issue?

Can't be anything but maintenance cost savings on a lightly-used overpass.
