Yes - you need to provide a topical reason for joining the forum that proves you are not a bot. We'll accept references to roads or signs or bridges etc.

Looks like my registration attempt may have been declined. I didn't get an email with any notification that it was, but after 2+ days wait, my status upon logging in went from "registration awaiting approval" to "username not found".
