Exactly this. Use a compressed air canister to clear out anything under/between the keys.
It could also be a problem with the keyboard's key delay. There should be a setting somewhere in the 'Keyboard' settings to increase the tick/repeat delay. You could also ask a technology assistance forum for people generally more knowledgeable in the subject if the problem persists.

I've been getting moments where various symbols and punctuation duplicate after hitting keys and clicking on mice just once.
Sssssssssspilled Mountain Dew is my guessssssssssssssss.
If cleaning the keyboard doesn't do it, on the plus side replacement keyboards are very cheap, and even nice keyboards are not that expensive.
You might have some sssssssssssticky letter keys, might wanna change that.

In my case, I don't think it has anything to do with sticky keyboards. It's more than likely defective Microsoft updates.

I've gone through this a few times with previous computers, and it was usually a hardware issue.
Stop eating at your keyboard.
I believe that it is still available as a 'preferences' setting on my machine.
