Recently I on a trip to the north of Sacramento I drove the entirety of CA 162 east of CA 70 to it's terminus over Lake Oroville at Foreman Creek Road.  CA 162 crosses the 1965 Bidwell Bar suspension bridge which was a replacement for the 1856 Suspension Span which was located in Bidwell's Bar.  Bidwell's Bar was the second Butte County seat from 1853-1856 and was located just west of the 1965 Bridge on the Middle Fork Feather River.  While CA 162 was extended east of Oroville in 1970 the Oroville-Quincy Highway was part of the 1909 First State Highway Bond Act routes that eventually became LRN 30.  Oroville-Quincy Highway was replaced by the Feather River Highway by 1936 but I'm fairly certain CA 24 was signed on it briefly.   I included a description of where LRN 30 would have dipped into Lake Oroville and where it would have emerged after crossing the 1856 Bidwell's Bar Bridge:

Recently I was shown a 1966 Goshua Highway Map which had the Lettered County Routes marked on it.  I was able to obtain a physical copy and discovered that current CA 162 east of Oroville was once County Route B1.  B1 probably was approved at the same time B2 was in 1964 but I haven't determined a time frame.  I updated the blog with a snip of the 1966 Goshua Map showing County Route B1.
