Elwood Road; Fresno County

Recently I drove Elwood Road in eastern Fresno County from CA 180 in Squaw Valley in the Sierra Nevada Foothills northwest to the ghost town site of Piedra on the Kings River.  Elwood Road is a scenic 11.8 Fresno County roadway which passes by the eastern flank of Bear Mountain and Wonder Valley before emerging onto the Kings River near Pine Flat Dam.  There isn't much to find in Piedra these days aside from some of the grade of the Wahtoke District Railroad.
