US 62/180 Freeway in El Paso

Plans to upgrade parts of US 62/180 in East El Paso to a freeway have been bubbling for a while. They're getting renewed attention with the release of these renderings:

The freeway portion ends well east of the Austin Terrace Historic District through which a long-ago envisioned US 62/180 freeway was to have run.

years overdue.  there is current upgrading of signals and widening on Montana Avenue now (US 62 / 180) so this may be years if not a decade or more away.
