As I stated previously...I'm breaking the rule of three for 66.

May I ask why the rules don't apply to you?

Does it matter?...geeze have a sense of grandeur.  I announced well in advance I was going to do it and last I checked it doesn't violate any forum rules...so yeah...is what it is. I don't have plans on doing it for any other route number, I could have posted probably close to a hundred if I really dug through the files.  66 in U.S. Route form especially ought to be a special case. Personally I could care less if someone else did the same, seems pretty arbitrary to limit the posts to three in the first place.

Besides the rules of this thread have changed so many times since its started that they have basically become superferolous.

All the other participants are following them. There's nothing at stake here except ego. As we see what works and what doesn't, modifying the rules shouldn't matter as long as the modifications improve the thread.

The three-picture rule, which has been in the rules from the beginning, is a courtesy to all posters. You may not mind when someone dumps a bunch of pictures into one post instead of spacing them out. I do mind. And I'm pleased with the thread with people following the rule.

For the record, the limit is one picture per route per person. That has also been in the rules since the beginning. The purpose of the thread is to see how many different routes we can get represented by different people. If you want to link to your US 66 collection, then choose one picture and state that you have a whole collection of US 66 pictures.

If you don't like the rules of this thread, then don't participate in it. Start your own thread and set your own ground rules.

Lol.  Wow you sure are taking this way too seriously.  I bet that felt pretty good telling me I was on an ego trip.  Trust me, that isn't the case.  You're the one who has changed the thread rules several times since starting.  There are a lot more things worth getting upset about out there and on this forum for that matter.  You've been up in everyone's grill about posting times so I know for certain that I'm not the only one who hasn't followed the rules to a tee per your ever changing prescription.  I don't know, maybe next time stick to your guns about your rules because I sure followed them as accurately as you described them before things started getting changed up.  By the way, if I've me posting a couple extra pictures of a really cool route is an affront or an offense to anyone I apologize.

Also if it makes you feel better I'll go back and edit the post when I get to a place where I can use my computer.

Yes I did.  Took it with my Minolta X-700 one morning around 16 years ago.

OK, rule-breaking as I'm in the photo, not actually taking it (but it was on my camera).

This is better than most of the US66 stuff in Santa Monica. On the pier there's a round shield that, on principle, I didn't take a picture of.

I'll allow pictures with yourself in the sign. (Except for Max Rockatansky, since he doesn't like the rules changing.  :) )

Living right near New York 67, I have plenty of those, but choose to go with this one on the Route 30 bridge over the Mohawk in Amsterdam.  I'm not sure if these are part of the upcoming sign replacement that was mentioned in another thread, but I hope not.  This from March 27, 2013.

For a US 67, let's go with this in or near near Saint Louis.  July 20, 2003.

And then a Vermont 67A in North Bennington, just a few days after the western leg of the Bennington bypass opened.  October 16, 2004.

Jim

I haven't been on I-68 in 17 years, but I do have a couple pictures from way back.  Here's one from western Maryland.  August 10, 1999.

Never having traveled US 68, my pictures for that are just a few signs from interstates in Ohio.  I'm sure others can do better.  Instead, I'll pick a few states.

Alabama 68 from US 411 in Centre.  March 30, 2014.

And to California 68 at California 1 in Seaside.  July 26, 2007.

You don't have to actually have travelled the route to post the picture for it.
