Jim

For I-96, I'll do this one with a big 96 and little 69 in Lansing, Michigan.  June 27, 2012.

I have exactly one US 96 in my collection, this from I-10 in east Texas.  August 28, 2003.

I have 7 or 8 other 96 options, but I'll stick closer to home with New York 96 in Waterloo.  June 29, 2016.

Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

US 97 with a bonus WA 20, weird how Omak and the valleys east of the Cascades are about as close to a desert as you can get without technically being one:

BTW, I noticed the numbers are jumping a lot faster and I obviously missed something awhile back.  Are we doing a 12 hour interval now?

I see no reason to rush things until we get way up into the 300s or 400s where it will be likely harder for people to find examples.

20 hours. I changed it several numbers ago. You're noticing it now because for a while we were starting new numbers in the mornings consistently. Somehow the window moved into the evening and started moving up.

It's not about accelerating the game. People were jumping the gun on the 24-hour window, so I shortened it to be less anal about that. And it has worked pretty well. Again, it happened that we didn't advance the numbers as quickly for a while, but now we are. (If anybody feels that we are going to fast now, we can discuss that.)

After 200, we will do five numbers at a time. After 1000, we will do 20 numbers at a time.

I'm backtracking because this thread was missing a NY State Route 9R, back when we tried to get all the suffixed 9 routes:

For I-97, I'll go with this unusual overhead distance sign.  December 26, 2014.

For US 97, there's no question which I need to use.  This Alaska US 97 is (or at least was, 15 years ago) in the University of Alaska-Fairbanks museum.  June 17, 2001.

And for the third 97, I have to offer BC 97 near Summit Lake on the Alaska Highway.  June 12, 2001.

Going back a few numbers, and a few years before the loop was replaced with a direct connector. These signs are adorned with button copy. So sad to see them go :-/

#1120
MN-98 marker from my collection. The route ran from US-61 in Wyoming to US-8 in Chisago City - nowadays it is Chisago CR-22, having been turned back in ~1996. It was the original alignment of US-8 until the mid to late 50s, when US-8 assumed its current alignment.

Jim

For US 98, I'll go to I-10 in Mobile, Alabama.  August 27, 2003.

Here's another Alaska 98 in Skagway. Either a different location or an older version of what Oscar just posted.  Mine's from June 23, 2001.

New York 98 and many friends meet in Batavia.  June 1, 2009.
