Well, today I found the old CT 89 bridge going over the former Mt. Hope River, it's located in Mansfield, CT: Google Maps Link

That's an old alignment of CT 89 I didn't know about, south of Warrenville Road between Mansfield Hollow Lake and a spot southwest of Atwoodville Road. Google Maps sat view shows the old alignment thru the woods (no longer open to traffic), and Atwoodville Lane "dead ends" at a former intersection on the old 89.

1945 USGS map shows the old route: http://docs.unh.edu/CT/sprh45sw.jpg
1953 USGS map shows the new: http://docs.unh.edu/CT/sprh53sw.jpg

There's another long abandoned segment of CT 89 in Ashford: http://www.kurumi.com/roads/ct/ct89.html. I'd eventually like to hike both.

It actually continues west of Warrenville Rd, and loops back. And tip, parts of the road are submerged during high tide
