I'm pretty sure I never participated in the Alanland thread, as in general I don't visit "Fictional Highways"  very often. (There's the difficulty with the question: If there's a long thread on a subforum you don't visit, you wouldn't know about it to cite in response to the question. I don't visit several of the regional fora, as well as "Fictional Highways."  I doubt I'm unique in that respect.)

Correct.  I generally glance at the bottom which shows the 10 recent posts, and may dive into the Northeast subforum or General Highway.  After that, I'm not actively looking into many other subforums.

There are some where I just wouldn't have anything worthwhile to contribute because I've never been to a given area and I don't know anything about the roads. (I suppose I'm teeing up the opportunity for snark about whether I have anything worthwhile to contribute anywhere....  )

I am surprised that this idea hasn't been explored by the DOTs in real life.
