I never understood how undivided 1 lane roads like that are 55 mph. That's a 120 mph closing speed if you accidentally drift over the line.

That supports my complaint. The fact that limited access freeways are as low as 55 mph, yet undivided routes are as high as 55 mph. They should be lower than expressways and parkway, not the same, or the limited access highways should have higher speed limits. Plenty of 55 mph 2 lane roads like that in Long Island. That doesn't contradict ny compliant LOL.

Try a 75 mph speed limit on a two-lane road.
