The 2nd phase of the Triangle Expressway is opening Wednesday afternoon - and Wednesday is the only day you can drive it free.

So we're going to have a local Raleigh meet - to drive the new highway and then have a bite to eat afterwards.

We're gonna meet at Trali Irish Pub in Brier Creek - http://www.traliirishpub.com/directions at 6:30 pm Wednesday night.

We'll to a quick driving tour shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes of the new toll road and then you are welcomed to stay for dinner at Trali afterwards.  IF you would like to join us, reply to this thread or drop me a line to give me a heads up that you are going.

I know that there are a handful of new folks in the forum from the Raleigh area outside of our normal crew of six to eight.  So why not stop on by!

I may be able to make it as I'm off work this week. I can give you a more definite answer later.

Dammit, I was hoping to see the TriEx and they go and open on a Wednesday. Please tell them to bite me.

Kind of a bummer that its free for only one day. At least I got to see NC-147 during its free period.

Six of us showed up for the local meet last Wednesday.  Not bad for 48 hours or so notice.

Blog entry describing the new tollway.
