Part 1: From Tallahassee to the Alabama/Florida State Line
(I posted some of these already; I'm kind of backed up on photos/work.)

Did you see the faded (formerly yellow) US 231 shields in Alford? FWIW, There are a few more reverse black/white US 98 shields that you passed by between Apalachicola and Port St. Joe.

formulanone

Missed any the yellow shields :( , but saw a couple of US 98 black shields along the way. That was the only up-close one. I was technically on my way to work...

Still catching up with January's photos...here's the first leg of my journey from Pittsburgh, going into WV and OH for a few moments, then back across US 22 and I-376 to the Turnpike:

Excellent photos!  The West Virginia sign, in particular, is just perfect button copy.

Thanks! I think it was one of those days where the lighting was nearly perfect (neither too bright nor too dim).

Here's Interstate 99; I picked up the little section (on a lunch break) south of US 220 Business.

It seemed to have been "officially named" after his death. Anything else would have been worthy of one of my rare bouts of WTF-ism! But when I passed the sign (there's two), I just chuckled.

But he's still alive, isn't he?

Some Maine state road signs with the LeHay font. Visited the Bangor area and then the Portland-Augusta areas the following week. Scooped up the 15 remaining counties, too.

No signage, but I found some old (November 2009) photos I'd forgotten about...at the old Bicentennial Park Circuit in Miami. Some of the "roads" are impassible now due to construction, but it gave me a little nostalgia boost from all the races I'd visited down there from 1987 to 1992.

Bring or make your own race-car noises, I won't tell anyone.

Traipsing around Birmingham and Interstate 22, recently. Thanks to Alps for suggesting these photos!

nice photos, thanks for the update!

I do appreciate it when all your pictures taken from a moving car have been post processed to correct the rotation and aqua colored tint from the windshield.

Or sometimes, I used the wrong white balance: Many of the I-22 photos were into the blinding sun, and I'd had it on "shade" with too much overexposure. So the skies are all wrong-ish and minty green.

Dusting off this thread...these are just Flickr updates.

A couple of old photos from November 2003: getting lost throughout Golden Gate Estates (now the Picayune Strand State Forest). Much of this land was turned over or donated the state as a preserve around 2008-2010, so some of these roads have been destroyed.

The roads had no street blades...the names of the street were painted onto the center of the intersections:

Janes Memorial Scenic Drive though the Fakahatchee State Preserve took you to that complex of roads:

It was dry for most of the month and not so bad, but I've heard it's in terrible shape for a car after it rains; during the summer, you'd better have some ground clearance.

Great photos....do you crop your pics that are on here? Or add filters?
I only take pics of good looking signs. Long live non-reflective button copy!
