From the Peoria Journal-Star

U.S. 24 will now cross the Illinois River south of downtown with I-474.

IL 29 will cross the river with I-74.

Plus, now a 5-way multi-plex in East Peoria with U.S. 24/150 IL 8/29/116 for a streach.

You're not missing much by bypassing "downtown".

Interesting how some states (Missouri) submit every little curve straightening project to AASHTO (their spring 2012 submission is a bloody four-laning in the same right-of-way) and others (Illinois) don't bother sending in actual reroutings.

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".
