I went out of my way today to get a section of OK-9, which means my lowest number is now 14, which shouldn't be to hard to get in the next couple months.

If one wants to include County/township/parish numbered routes, then that list can only contain said routes. No mixtures with state/fed/Interstates.

I have officially been on NM 68, so my number rises to 97. This is where it will stay until I either discover a route I previously overlooked or until I turn 17.

I should be up to 432 now.  I clinched PA/NY/PA 426, PA 427, PA 428, and PA/NY 430 over the weekend.

My non-independent section number should be 429 (only 429 is NY 429 on its concurrency with NY 31), but that is for another thread.

I don't count them either. I've been on some of New Jersey's county routes like 539 and 528, but I won't count it unless it's a state route. It makes it harder that way.

You might not need to now, but at some point it might depend on how long you want to be stuck on a lower number.  ;-)

There aren't any numbered county highways near me that would help me, so I don't really have to make that decision.

Even then, I think I'm going to stick with routes listed in TravelMapping so I don't have to maintain another list.
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

Like I said much earlier in this thread, this game gets pretty dull in the upper numbers as fewer and fewer states have routes with high numbers.  You end up having to spend way too much time in KY, TX or VA to get up to Oscarland.

This is probably going to get an even bigger eye roll from Rothman, but I've filled in with two or three select county routes without maintaining a full list of county routes I've been on. I would ultimately like to fill them in with routes in TM and probably will eventually.

CoreySamson

My rationale with county routes is that they have to be signed with a shield in order for them to be valid. They can't just be signed on street blades or LGSs, or be labeled as such on Google Maps. In fact, I grabbed my number 2 with a county route with this rationale...

The three or four county routes in my list are signed with blue pentagons or other conventional route markers. I insisted on that in part because I kept coming across "county routes" I wasn't sure officially existed. No such issue with unsigned Interstates like I-296 or I-345, or unsigned state routes whose official status is easily confirmed.
