What is the longest street name in your area? When I say street name, I mean don't include the words "road, street parkway" etc. If you could find a sign of it, please post it.

Chancellor Matheson Road is the longest one I can think of. It's difficult fitting it on a street name sign:

Again, if there already exists a thread of this nature, my apologies.

Here it's Duke of Gloucester Street. Back in the 1990s the street blades omitted the St suffix and just said Duke of Gloucester.

Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road. My friend runs a new paint store there, and it doesn't fit in the address Field in their computer system, nor does it fit on one line on her address stamp.

I'm sure most politically-correct cities have a street named Martin Luther King Jr. http://goo.gl/maps/91Vu2

Outside of that, Tucson, AZ has Oracle Jaynes Station Rd http://goo.gl/maps/Cqico
not to mention probably many long spanish names, like Calle Campana De Plata and Placita Colonia De Oro http://goo.gl/maps/LFNyW

Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard would have to win here in Dalton, GA (and if you count the South Dalton Bypass' (US 41) hidden name, Admiral Mack Gaston Parkway, that's pretty long, too).
Now alternating between different highway shields for my avatar - my previous highway shield avatar for the last few years was US 76.

President George Bush Turnpike (and President George Bush Highway for the frontage road). Named at a time when adding "President" was enough to clarify which George Bush it meant.

Forgot about that!  These were the only ones I knew of that were long in Dallas...

We also have Farm-To-Market Road and Bow-Edison Road in the Skagit Valley, Slater-Kenny Road in Olympia, Everson-Nooksack Road in Whatcom County.
They said take a left at the fork in the road.  I didn't think they literally meant a fork, until plain as day, there was a fork sticking out of the road at a junction.

Why is everything "in your area"?

It doesn't have to be if you don't want to.

Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark, NJ.

The President Barack Obama Parkway in Orlando is a long name as that has many letters in it literally.

Any street named after the Spanish painter Picasso is technically named Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno de los Remedios Crispín Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso :bigass:. Fortunately we only write Pablo Ruiz Picasso.

On paper, US23 in southern Franklin County is Columbus - Chillicothe Western Rd. Off the top of my head that's the longest I can think of.

What about Hawaii? Some of those words are very long.

Yeah, but the Hawaiians were sensible enough to leave the really long ones out of their street names.

The ones that come to mind, within the state highway system, are Oahu's Kalanianaole Highway (most is HI 72) and Queen Liliuokalani Freeway (most of Interstate H-1), and Maui's Honoapiilani Highway (most of HI 30), all with 12-letter main words, which are also tongue-twisters. For total name length, Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue (unsigned state route, on a former Naval air station) in southwest Oahu is also a contender, as well as Kaimu-Chain of Craters Road (part of HI 130, mostly obliterated by lava flows) on the Big Island.

Off the top of my head, two of the longer street names I can think of are Jefferson Davis Highway (though everyone just calls it Route 1) and Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway (normally referred to as Route 50).
