Is this supposed to be a loop route, akin to Washington State Route 100, with technically no directionality? I know some of Montana's highways are weird, such as Montana Highway 206 being signed as north-south even though it's an even number. However, for this one, looking at Google Maps, I'm not able to tell where either terminus is, particularly the one in Billings, where we spent some time Sunday and Monday.

For example, both Shiloh Road and Zoo Drive are labeled as 302 on Google Maps, with the former going to Wise Lane and then South Frontage Road and the latter going directly to South Frontage Road. From either direction, 302 just has a "head-on" with itself.

Don't believe this is a thing in Montana...numerous routes running counter to this idea...

Shiloh Rd/Zoo Rd is not SR 302 and never has been.  It was SR 429...some vestige signage:

Thank you both. So, is this supposed to be a north-south or an east-west route? It's hard to tell.

Mapmikey, can you clarify what you mean by that's not a thing in Montana? Are you saying that the whole north-south equals odd number and east-west equals even number is not a thing in Montana? I do realize that thing is only a guideline and not a binding rule. Although while Washington and Oregon have some routes that break that convention, such as WA 548 being north-south, for the most past, they do follow that guideline.

Yes.  States do whatever they want.  West Virginia was originally number with odds E-W and evens N-S, which is mostly retained.  South Carolina was numbered with no consistency in mind, then 100 years later slapped directional banners on those numbers as if it were evens E-W and odds N-S, creating numerous absurdities in their posted routing.

MT 302 is E-W in my opinion.  See this decent map to see it no longer runs in Billings at all: https://www.mdt.mt.gov/other/webdata/external/planning/maps/hwymap-system.pdf

Thanks for the clarification. Although it does seem Montana does follow the common convention in some cases, such as MT 200 being east-west and MT 135 being north-south, but unlike in other states, such as my state, the common convention is the minority, not the standard.

Also, that would seem to make the OSM map partially incorrect as well, though not as bad as Google Maps.
