Why is US 34 east of Wray not on street view?

I was so stunned to see this missing. Not even 2008 coverage is here. Has to be the only US highway not on streetview. Also threw off my trip across America on streetview.

There are at least a couple other segments missing from GSV that we've talked about over the years.

Having to click through so many low quality images on Street View sounds tedious.  I get bored after one or two clicks usually.  I couldn't fathom trying to follow even a twenty mile highway much less one across the country.

I managed to make it to California with only 1 small part of 2008 street view in Nevada plus another short one in Pennsylvania.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not missing a lot. Next to some kind of rock escarpment in Wray is okay, but everything else nearby is flat, flat, Illinois flat.

That's the great thing about KYTC's photolog viewer. It has a "play" function where you only have to click once and the scene changes frame by frame. It resets at the county line, though, so you have to play each county through. And since KYTC only officially recognizes one road at a time, you have gaps during concurrencies that you have to pick up by playing the concurrent route.
Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

I haven't looked at NYSDOT's photolog in over a decade.  NYSDOT may even still have that crotchedy curmudgeon from yesteryear still maintaining the thing...

But why though?

I can see how people who can't travel for whatever reason but want to do this sort of thing.

Way too much time over winter break with not much else to do in the cold New England weather.

It just seems so time consuming and you aren't really experiencing the area.

Google does a poor job of conveying what a highway is like.  You can't take in the scenery with your own eyes nor replicate how the road feels (which is especially important on anything with curves or terrain).

Dude...check your sympathy level.  It's a little low...I suppose like the rest of ours in this group. :D

Scrolling on google streetview is pretty similar to watching say a freewayjim or interstate kyle video. It's obviously not a replacement for real traveling but it's a good time waster.

Yep exactly that was the point I was trying to make. I don't mind using GSV and using it when I just want to know what something looks like or something like that but I don't feel that I get a general feel of the area by doing it though.
