View looking north on the 404 from Norman Bethune Drive.  HOV lanes are being constructed along the 404 north from this point to Stouffville Road.  They should open later this month:

View looking easterly from Avenue Road towards North York Civic Centre.  Concrete slab repairs are underway on the westbound express lanes:

I sure don't envy anyone commuting in the Hamilton area this morning: an accident on 403 at about the worst possible location (just north/east of the Linc) has turned 403 into a parking lot all the way back to Hwy 52, a distance of over 12km. It's showing as a 2 hour, 30 minute delay on Google Maps and I don't doubt it for a second. Complicating factors are the road closure on Garner Rd (which could normally be used to bypass the first ~6 km of congestion) and lack of viable alternate routes down the mountain to bypass the section with the accident. Consequently no one in the Hamilton area is going anywhere this morning without encountering significant congestion. It's so bad that 403 westbound is backing up coming into Hamilton as traffic comes in from alternate routes such as York Rd, Hwy 5/Hwy 6, and the QEW, which I have never seen happen in the morning rush.

Does anybody know if the new interchange on ON-6 just north of the 401 is open yet?  And if it is, what's it's signed for?  Wanna put that interchange into the TM file of ON-6, but need a name first.

I personally haven't driven there yet but according to the project website, it is open now.
It also states that the intersections of Hwy6/Maltby and Hwy6/Wellington34 are also now closed.

Didn't have a point @ Maltby, so that's not an issue.

They mention on that page that the new road is "Midblock Connection Road (Wellington Road 53)".  Already have a 'RR53' point for a different RR route in the ON-6 file, so, will go with 'RR53_Wel'.

Just drove along Highway 6 where the new interchange is located:

Pretty appalled by the signage to be honest. Usually, MTO is very strict, professional, and proper with signage but for whatever reason they put up these signs which looks super unprofessional.

The signs are temporary construction signs.  They'll be replaced with proper extruded aluminum signs in the future.  There is still a years worth of work as part of this project.  An overpass still needs to be constructed at the location of the former Wellington Road 34 intersection.
