Title: Need help planning a road trip for dad's birthday
Post by: Nanis on April 22, 2018, 11:20:50 PM
I have no ideas

Anything further a distance then Pittsburgh is too far for my family.

I was thinking something like Reading, Harrisburg or Scranton

Good choice.  Even Scranton has things worth seeing, like Steamtown, but I can think of nothing that redeems a trip to Reading.

Another thought:  Is this some sort of present?  If so, why take someone on a road trip that doesn't like road trips as a birthday present?

My dad loves roadtrips. It's my sister that hates them as she always gets cramps.

Also, note that I might be staying in a hotel there for a few days.

Update: I'm not staying in a hotel. We are going to Crystal Cave in Kutztown.

The route will look like this:
PA Route 532, Philadelphia County Road 1009, PA Route 73, Montgomery County Route 2023, PA Route 73 again, PA Route 662, PA Route 143, Virginville Rd, Adam Rd, Crystal Cave Rd, Valley Rd. Anything I could change with this route?

A map of this route is attached below

I took the same route I said too except I never got off of 73 until I got to 662. When I went home, I took 222 to 100. I took 100 to I78. I took I78 to 611. I then took 611 home.

The speed limit to the place was 25mph for some reason. It took us 4 hours to get there
