How could I have forgotten about the Lake Ontario State Parkway? Saw 0 cars on it (it was during the night however).

Just out of curiousity, which section did you drive?

I see, cool. I didn't know you had been to/through Rochester.

It is somewhat surprising that there was zero cars, as there's usually some traffic west of Hamlin Beach, and especially west of NY 261.

It was around 10 pm. I haven't spent much time there, I slept over for one night on my way back from Niagra Falls.

NY 18 could also be in the conversation for most lonely, especially this section.

I was there too! My family visited Fort Niagara, got to see a nice view of Toronto, and drove to our hotel in Rochester on NY 18 and the Lake Ontario Parkway. Got to see the sunset near lake Ontario. We stopped at Wilson House Restaurant and Inn in Wilson. Very lightly traveled, but nice, part of New York.

Sounds fun! I've driven through Wilson a few times but never stopped there. Also went to Fort Niagara on a school field trip.

And Lake Ontario is great for sunsets. I enjoyed a few of them this very weekend, in fact.
