I suppose it depends. This one is on wooden posts which can be easily sawed off, IMO.

So you saw it off from the post...then what? A two-digit gore point sign is normally something like six feet by five feet. You'd need a particularly large pickup truck bed to fit that. And it's going to be heavy enough you probably need at least two people to move the thing. And you need to get it in there without someone calling your tag number in to the cops.

Yeah, that's why I said I'm not 100% sure on the Exit 69 eastbound gore point sign. (The aforementioned mileposts, I'm confident.) I will go back to that exit and look sometime soon. I only saw it from the westbound side and just noticed two posts standing, but no sign. It's possible it's either on the ground and I just didn't see it (since it's on the eastbound side, and I was "far away" on the westbound side) or it's already been picked up by DOT for repairs at a future date.

Looks like vandalism may have been the cause. There's evidence of cutting at the top, as the stiffener ribs are gone.

In progress of being repaired. A new post has been installed for the damaged post and the signs have been taken by DOT for reinstallation at a future date. I suppose they could have reinstalled the mile marker right then and there, but I guess it's better to just do it all at once.

Repaired!

And once again, the fourth chevron sign on the I-90 Exit 109 eastbound off-ramp is down for the third time! When it was repaired last time, they even put yellow striping on it! This is ridiculous! Three times between now and October 2023!

Not on a state-maintained road, but did my duty and reported this dangerous situation to the City of Syracuse and got it fixed:

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the dangerous part? A stop sign I could understand, obviously, but a crooked street blade? Or is there something else there I'm missing?

Glad it's repaired, though!

The ped signal should give a big hint...

And repaired! :) That was fast! I didn't know DOT worked on weekends.

People need to stop crashing into signs. It's rude.

Interstate 82 westbound at its western terminus, where the road becomes an on-ramp to Interstate 90:

People around where I'm at also need to stop shooting at them, because that's also not very nice!

Ain't got any pics but I know along some spots near me some of the signs have bullet holes in them, like some along VA-700 going up to Mountain Lake

No evidence of a crash, given the bottom half of the signposts are still standing, so it seems to me that, for whatever reason, the bolts in the middle area at one of the breakaway points failed or something.

Interstate 90 eastbound in Adams County at Exit 231:

It was already fallen over on the ground the last time, before yesterday, that I drove through the area on February 19. Last time it was still intact that I personally saw was when I drove through the area on December 5, so it happened sometime between those two dates.

I already mentioned the gantry sign was repaired a while ago. The Severe Side Wind Ahead sign is also repaired now.
