^ The "West" in "West Temple" is a directional word, and doesn't count under the OP's Rule 5. So the above photo can be played only as "Temple", in response to a street name ending in T.

I don’t think it’s a directional word in this case, because the full name of that road would actually be South West Temple. Just like the full name of the road one block to the east is South Main Street.

Put it this way: there isn’t really a difference between South Main St and North Main St, since they’re really the same road. But there is a huge difference between West Temple, North Temple, and South Temple, as all three are completely different streets (and West Temple even intersects both North and South Temple!). Because of that, I’d argue that in this case “West” is not a directional word, and is a full part of the street name.

Also, Utah does not put directionals on street signs (so South State St is just signed as “State St”).

(Though perhaps not the most useful one, since we all seem to be out of Es now, a problem that I guess I contributed to a few posts up. Whoops.)

In both this and the city name game, roadguy2 can unstick the games by playing his own E___ names that don't end with problem letters like E and N, under the 48-hour rule. SLC has an abundance of Eight ____ and Nine ______ street names, some of which I've played and can't be reused (use the search box), but there are still many others left. Utah also has some E___ and N____ place names like Ephraim and Nephi, some of which I've played in the city name game but under that game's rules he can reuse those names with his own photos.
