Title: 2025 Rand McNally Road Atlas
Post by: bob7374 on March 30, 2024, 06:18:59 PM
Looks like the 2025 Rand McNally Road Atlas is now available. A link to the Rand McNally website:
https://randpublishing.com/2025-road-atlas/

It is also available to order at Amazon.com, but not available for shipping for another couple of days. A search of the Barnes and Noble website came up empty.

I already put in my order when I needed something to get my Amazon free shipping. It is supposed to come April 8.

Why do they have it out so early? (And I know it's not only this year.) Things could change before we get to 2025, like expected highway openings being delayed.

I ordered mine a few days ago. It should be getting here on the 1st or 2nd.

Looking at the sample photos, it looks like they have I-69 in Indiana completed up to I-465. That will likely happen by 2025, but it may be jumping the gun.

Heck, I have a German road atlas from 2013-14 showing the northernmost section of A71 already open and a gap near Sömmerda still in planning stage. That never happened, as the former got delayed due to a very German reason (a dispute on some minor contract), and when it finally opened to traffic construction was already underway on the last section.

The gap in I-695 definitely won't be one, since the atlas had already been published when the Key Bridge collapsed. It probably will be in place for 2026, though.

Connecticut:
Mile-based exits are now shown for CT 2 and I-691.  CT 8 is still shown as sequential, even though its supposed to be converted this year.  I-291 and I-384 also still sequential, but the project to convert those was just awarded this spring, so new signs probably won't go up for another year.

Massachusetts:
Some short connector roads to/from the MassPike are now shown as "limited access highways" and not just thin black lines.

Those are the only changes I've noticed so far for New England.  VT's exits are still shown mile-based (even though they're still sequential).  A couple "secret" routes are still labelled in CT.  The extension of the I-395 roadway as ME 9 in the Bangor, ME area still isn't shown, but that isn't supposed to open until sometime in 2025, I believe.  Maybe it'll make it onto the 2026 edition, along with the new Exit 4-A on I-93 that NHDOT is building.
