The Famous 11 Feet 8 Bridge
« on: April 30, 2022, 09:26:54 AM »

I figure I would start a thread about this bridge that now has its one hundredth bout with an over height vehicle.

The video here is not the latest, but I would share  because aside from being serious this caption makes me laugh every time I see it.

If anyone is familiar with the Schenectady, NY area, the. you’ve probably heard of the Glenridge Road underpass. The bridge is under the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, and is I believe 10’. Every couple of weeks a truck hits it.

Now an office worker needs to set up a camera there and post videos of it online

The bridge now has a 12 ft 4 in (3.75 m) clearance, they raised it in 2019 but they still manage to hit it anyway. I prefer the fact the entirety of continental Europe is North of that bridge :sombrero:, the Southernmost tip lying at about the same latitude as the bridge.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.
