The car displayed -11° on the drive in this morning. NWS said Madison set a new record low (old one was -9°). The forecast claims we should stay above 0 the rest of the week

18 degrees, overcast and breezy.

There were light snow showers this afternoon, though that stopped a little bit ago.

Predictions of snow on Thursday have gone from <1 inch to 3—5 inches. After the last flop of a snowstorm, I'm curious to see if it holds this time.

Of course, it's not like it's going to matter. It's supposed to get above freezing over the weekend, possibly even into the 40s.

Clear and cold again tonight; the ground has been snow covered for all of March so far. We'll see if it lasts through this weekend's warmup.

adventurernumber1

Over here it has been a monstrous day of thunderstorms and downpour. Throughout the day has been the wrath of insanely loud thunder, and there has been so much rain that it is starting to flood in a lot of places. It's not too cold (around 50 degrees), but according to the forecast, it's actually going to get a little colder a week from now.

Wet. Everything is wet. Snowpack is melting, and quite a bit of rain is predicted from now through Thursday. Nearly the entire state is under a flood watch as a result, and warnings are beginning to be issued for rivers predicted to reach flood stage.

MNHighwayMan

Normally, I hate double posting, but for this I'll make an exception. The first thunderstorm of 2019 passed over Des Moines about 45 minutes ago. :hyper: I knew rain was coming, but the thunder and lightning wasn't entirely expected.

Snow in the morning, then a bit of rain, a sunbreak, sunshine, then hail and thundersnow.

Weird day to say the least.

thundersnow.

:eyebrow:

no shit?! I don't see that happening here too often.

The hail that fell here (around 7pm yesterday) still hasn't melted
