Quote from: Encyclopedia Britannica
Bellows, mechanical contrivance for creating a jet of air, consisting usually of a hinged box with flexible sides, which expands to draw in air through an inward opening valve and contracts to expel the air through a nozzle. The bellows was invented in the European Middle Ages and was commonly used to speed combustion, as in a blacksmith's or ironworker's forge, or to operate reed or pipe organs.

I've been on sections of the German Autobahn that have no speed limit at all.

I've driven on the 85-mph TX-130.

The highest number I've seen on a speed limit sign while driving was 120 km/h.

Same here, except instead of the Autobahn, I drove the "Montanabahn" (reasonable and prudent, except at night or for trucks) in 1996 while it was still in effect, until killjoys forced imposition of a fixed speed limit.

Did see a 100 Km/hr sign in Quebec

If considering only what I have seen while actually on the road in real life - 75 MPH.

I've definitely seen 75 MPH before on the road, but I don't think I've ever seen 80 MPH (and definitely not 85 MPH or anything higher).
Now alternating between different highway shields for my avatar - my previous highway shield avatar for the last few years was US 76.

80: I-25 in WY and I-29/90 in SD.

I have seen the north end of TX 130, does that count for 85? :P

1995hoo

75 mph in New Mexico and Arizona.

The highest number I've seen on a speed limit sign is 110 in Nova Scotia and Quintana Roo, but of course that's a lower actual speed limit.

I don't remember what the urban speed limits were on the motorway near Copenhagen's airport or in the Helsinki/Espoo area because I was on buses and was more interested in looking around than in the speed limits.

75 mph in several western states (some of which have sections that have gone up to 80 since I was last there)

By the same token, the highest number I've seen is 90, on the freeway to Reykjavík from the airport, but that's hardly remarkable once translated. The highest actual limit is 70 mph, owing to my lack of driving pretty much anywhere west of the Appalachians.

ftballfan

75 in rural Michigan. Highest I've seen on a non-freeway is 65, also in Michigan

Hurricane Rex

On Freeway: 130 kph, in France. 80 mph in Montana and Idaho.
Non-Freeway: 70 mph

My dad has seen a 140 kph in Poland a few years back.

Lowest: 1 mph (was a pedestrian speed limit and temporary)
ODOT, raise the speed limit and fix our traffic problems.

Happens to be a case of the highway number matching the speed limit: 80mph on I-80 in rural Nevada and in western Utah.

If I recall correctly, 75 on I-90 in Western Montana (2011).
