Title: OH 26 west end re-route
Post by: vtk on July 03, 2013, 09:30:11 AM
It seems ODOT is re-routing the west end of state route 26 in Marietta.

Public Meeting Announcement (we missed it) (http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D10/newsreleases/Pages/SR-26-Public-Meeting.aspx)

(https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dot.state.oh.us%2Fdistricts%2FD10%2Fnewsreleases%2FDocuments%2FRerouting%2520Exhibit.png&hash=02a8d5c672e4676aa93c4697b5b8907627e9c9b3)

Currently, OH 26 runs down Greene St to 7th, where it then overlaps OH 7 and then also OH 60 before suddenly ending at 3rd & Greene (where OH 7 and OH 60 turn and continue).

After rerouting, OH 26 will turn down Acme St to end at OH 7 (Pike St) without overlapping any other routes.

I don't know what is the time frame for this change.  Maybe it's already happened.

Ohio has a public hearing for something like a numbering change? Sounds like a waste of time and money to me.

I was in Marietta earlier today.  SR 26 is still signed on its original route including the overlap with SR 7.
