Title: How many miles have you driven?
Post by: oscar on February 16, 2011, 04:23:17 PM
This is coming up in the "What do we do for a living?" thread, so I'm starting a new thread.  (But kind of related to a thread on average annual mileage a year and a half ago.)

As for myself, I'm sure I'm well over 700,000 miles, though probably short of a million.  I have over 193,000 miles and over 130.000 miles on my two current cars.  The two before them, I racked up 194,000 and 180,000 miles (in addition to the 102,000 miles driven by the previous owner of the latter), respectively before they bit the dust.  I've owned five or six other cars, but I don't know how much mileage I put on those.  Plus, I've put a lot of miles on rental cars (much to the rental companies' consternation), but I don't have a total on those.

I've had a driver's license since I turned 16 in 1972, though I was car-less for several years in the late 1970s and early 1980s.  Others I'm sure will have higher totals in less time.

I forgot how much I've driven with my previous (and first) car, but I got my current car used at 80,000 km, and it's around 142,000 km now. I got it on July 2, 2009.

Take out a sheet of paper and do some calculations... it averages 104.6 km / day (or 38,179 km/year; 23,723 mi/year).

Not counting what I've driven on my learner's permit, let's extrapolate that to August 20, 2008.

I've driven approximately 95,163 kilometres or 59,131 miles.

I think my lifetime total is around 200,000 miles (15,000 miles on one car, about 165,000 miles on another, and about 5,000 miles on a third).  I have not put very many miles on rental cars, having rented cars only twice (once in Alaska and once in the UK).  I have done some driving, including a couple of longish roadtrips, in other people's cars.  I have had a full driving license for about 19 years.  For several years I was averaging about 30,000 miles annually, but I have done very little driving overall except for short road vacations in the last eight years.

Thinking back to how many miles I've put on all of my vehicles, I think I've driven around 589,000 miles since I got my license in 1993.  Throw in rental cars and my wife's and parents' vehicles, and I'm probably pretty close to the 600k mark, and should go over it this year.

I'm hopeful that my new employer (my company was recently acquired by Tyco Electronics) will spend some money and get all of the installers company work trucks or work vans so I can stop putting work mileage on my own truck and use it more for normal roadgeeking.

I'd love to hear AlpsROADS response to this one  :)

I put about 20-30k on my first car, 50k on another, and 52k combined in my current two cars -- so that's only about 130k.

I lived in Boston for 5 years without a car at all, so that's a pretty big chunk of time where there were 0 miles driven.

I think for someone that just received my license in June 2010, I've done a comparatively large amount of driving. On my current car (which I've had for less then a year), I've done about 8,000 miles...which I think is a lot for a someone still in high school.

That's really good. I think that in the 2.5 years of high school I had a license, I put on 12,000 on my car/2,000 on my Dad's car/500 (at most) on my Mom's car/100 on other random cars, which is what, like 7,600 per year? I thought that was a lot, especially since I had a 12 mile round trip commute every school day. My parents didn't let me start driving to Riggins (50 miles away on sometimes scary mountain roads) until my junior year or Boise (100 miles away on sometimes scary mountain roads)  until my senior year though, so the mileage accumulation wasn't linear.

I got my license 11/26/2003. It's hard for me to believe that I'll have had my license for 8 years in November. After 7.5 years I'd bet I'm at around 97,000 give or take 5,000 (57,000 on my current car, 18,000 on my high school/first semester of college college car, 5,000 on the Colt, 10,000 on random rental cars, a 2,500 on a buddy's Honda Civic, about 4,000 on parents cars, then another 1000 or so on random friends/school/work cars). If you were to log it, the rate of increase from year to year would be almost exponential (I logged 25,000 last year) but I suspect it's going to plateau off for a couple years until I'm earning more money. At this point I'm devoting as much money as possible to driving (probably more than most would find possible), but there's obviously an income limit there.

So I'm coming up on 100,000 if I haven't already passed it. Barring catastrophe, I'll hit it this year.

Got my car seven years ago with 139,000 miles (hey, it was cheap...). It now has 149,000 miles. So that works out to an average of around 1500 miles per year.

My parents have been pretty awesome, overall, in terms of long-distance trips (or at least what qualifies as long-distance for people under the age of 18), of which I have taken several. I have driven around upstate NY quite a bit, and I even drove to Washington, D.C. and back in one day all on my own, back in October. So that has been helpful in terms of accumulating miles. School is about 5 miles round trip each day, and work is 16 miles round trip (which I do about 3 times per week).

Also, I did more driving than anyone I know in my age 16 year when I had only a permit, which meant I could only drive with my dad in the car. Despite that restriction, I drove to White Marsh, MD and back for a road meet, and did countless home-to-Fort Lee, NJ-and-back trips, probably 30 to 40 miles round trip. In fact, I drove almost every week when I had the permit. Some of my friends drove, cumulatively, just five times or even less before getting their licenses. (By the way, I did not include my 'permit driving' in the estimated 8000 miles I mentioned above; The total number of miles driven in the past year and a half is probably around 12000 miles--again, I think that's damn good for someone still several months shy of 18).

Also, in terms of people who have driven many many miles, my dad has driven more miles then any person I know--he is definitely well past 1,000,000 miles. This is a combination of his advanced age (63), as well as the fact that his job entails driving to such far-flung places as Philly, Connecticut, and Western Massachusetts with a high degree of regularity (usually, he'll do two out of those three places in any given week, plus the three other work days he does extensive 'local' travels in north and central New Jersey, and southern NY).

My car, which I have had since June 2009, is currently at 19,944.something miles. Almost at 20k!

I don't know for sure, but that's probably more than I did with other cars (mostly my father's) in the years prior. I didn't actually get my license until the summer after my freshman year of college, and I went to college in The Bronx so I was walking or taking the subway/bus everywhere. Pretty much the only time I would have been actually been getting behind the wheel of a car during that time would be when I was at home over winter, spring, or summer break. And even then, I didn't get out all that much and combined a lot of trips with my father (I worked basically around the corner from him for two summers and we tended to run errands together). Also didn't help that my best friend for a while decided that she was not comfortable being in a car if she was not driving...

So, yeah, easily more than half of the mileage I've clinched (which is not quite at 8,000 yet... I really need to get out more) was done at least initially with me in the passenger seat, not old enough to drive.

Let's see.

1996 - today (15 years) x 25,000 = 375,000
1992 - 1995 (4 years) x 20,000 = 80,000
1989 - 1991 (3 years) x 18,000 = 54,000
1986 - 1988 (3 years) x 15,000 = 45,000
early years 1981 - 1995 about 20,000 total

Grand total approx. 574,000 miles

Lifetime I'm probably at about 100,000 miles.  I know I've driven MY car 75,000 miles.  The other 25,000 (guessing on that number) is from when I drove my dads car when I was in high school.

I put about 45K on my first car and this one has 72K on it. Add another roughly 2K miles in the family car and about 7K in the aborted car (not going into details), plus 3K in a rental car, I'll say 130,000 so far. At about 30K a year (25K on my car, 5K on other cars) I'll hit a million miles in another roughly 30 years. Maybe by the time I'm 60!

My '03 Dodge Neon started out with 10,000 miles when my dad bought it used in 2004; it's now at 139,000 miles, some eight years later.

Be well,

I'm looking at close to 400,000 in 3 cars: the '94 Saturn that I took to 135,000 and the '01 Audi that made it to 249,000, and the 8,000 or so to date on my current car.  Plus some mileage in my wife's cars and with previous cars before I had a chance to travel that much, so I'd guess I'm in the neighborhood of a half million in my 25 years of driving.

In 13 years (and on my 3rd car), I've logged roughly 344,000 miles.  Also, about 2 years worth of that 13 was spent out to sea.

I guess I've done just over 400,000 miles in the 34 years or so I've been driving. I'm currently doing about 12,000 miles a year in my own car, (which is more or less the norm in the UK) and maybe 3 to 4,000 in the firm's pool cars.

My current car, which I've had for a little over 16 months, is currently sitting at around 22,600, thanks in large part to my fairly frequent DC-to-ATL runs.

As for previous cars...
2003-06, I didn't have my own car.  Most of my mileage was probably racked up on trips visiting family in Florida, a roughly 450-mile round trip.  Estimating about ten such trips in that timeframe, plus other assorted driving, probably about 6,000 miles for those three years.
2006-09, had my own car while at college.  Had little need to drive it day-to-day; an average of 20 miles per week probably isn't far off.  Driving was more common during the summers as an intern, maybe 40 miles per week.  Add in two ATL-to-DC round trips and another 3,000 miles or so of family visits.  Total of about 9,000 for those three years, and then an additional 4,000 or so for the last few months I had that car after graduation and moving to DC permanently.

Grand total estimate:  somewhere in the ballpark of 42,000 miles over about 7 1/2 years.

My lifetime mileage estimate is about 350,000 miles in 16 years of driving, or about 22,000 miles a year.

For much of my working life, I commuted 70 miles a day, plus roadtrips to visit friends and attend various events over the years. And it's not slowing down: my current commute is 80 miles a day, plus whatever mileage I pick up handling service calls.

Never had my own car, always been company or parental cars, though I would roughly estimate my total mileage at around 100,000 miles, 95,000 of which were in Germany and only some 5,000 in the US.

With my trip this past Saturday I surpassed 1,000,000 miles lifetime driving.  I've had a license since late 1985 (South Carolina allowed daytime unescorted driving at age 15.5 back then...teenagers drove school buses too).

Regrettably, about 38% of those miles are solely the daily commute of the last 17 years...

I don't know how far I drove my first car (a 1977 Ford Granada in high school) nor how far I've driven rentals or family members' cars (e.g., when I was 15 and had a learner's permit my father had me do most of the driving both ways on a trip to New York, and I've driven my parents' cars and my brother's cars periodically over the years).

Adding up just my own cars other than the Granada, I come out with around 345,000 miles, so the total is probably in the 350,000 mile range (perhaps a bit more). It'd be higher except I work out of the home office most days these past few years and thus my overall mileage has dropped off considerably, especially compared to the summer after my first year of law school when I commuted 80 miles roundtrip every day (and it took perhaps 40 minutes each way).

Heh. I responded here four years ago today and in those four years I've done some work.

The Focus that I mentioned was just shy of 20k then was sold last summer with 96,246.3 miles on it.
Its replacement became mine with 25,253 miles on it, it now has 37,471 miles on it.

So yeah, I've gone from "man, I need to get out more" to "I drove 12,000 miles in six months".

Between those two cars, using my parents' cars, and rentals, I estimate I'm somewhere near 125,000 miles behind the wheel now. If I keep my current pace I'll be nearing retirement age by the time I reach 1,000,000 miles. But who knows.

My lifetime total falls somewhere between 2.5 and 3 million miles. I drove a truck coast-to-coast for nearly 20 years. I have also run the wheels off of more than a few personal vehicles. I still drive for a living (luxury limousines.)

I cut my teeth on a Granada too, mine was a 78 tho. Fully loaded with an extremely weak inline 6, those left hand merges onto the Ike or Kennedy were scary to say the least!

God, how many miles have I driven? If I went by my current daily averages I'd be shorting myself big-time, I'm sure, I'm going to have to do a little math.

I got my licence the Tuesday after Labor Day in 1986, the first full week of my junior year in high school (I'm guessing that would be Sept 2, 1986), having had my learners permit since 6/9/1986 (the first Monday after school let out). As others have stated, back then our licenses were restriction free, and I surely took advantage of it (as long as I wasn't grounded, lol).

I just did a quick figuring from what I could remember of all the cars I have had, plus my parents cars as a teen, going on trips with them (etc) and that came to approximately 465,000 miles, and that doesn't count any the mileage driven in ambulances and fire trucks back in my volunteer fire/rescue days-many, many very short trips add up over a while, I guess.

I'll roll with 470,000 miles as a quick guestimate over the 10,481 days that I have been a permitted or licensed driver (a little less than 45 miles a day). That does sound about right, considering my current 1 job, not a ton of cruising mileage average is just under 27 miles a day (I picked up my Mustang from the dealership on 2/3/14 with 4 miles on it and it has 10,128 miles on it as I type this). I  think I have put maybe 50 miles on my wife's Mustang since then, LOL. I have work to DO, if I am to reach a million before I retire in 10 years, 1 month, 13 days, 14 hours and 33 minutes.

....

Heh, mine was a four-speed manual (but with a pedal-operated handbrake), and I definitely recall how weak that straight-six was. Front of the car would shudder if I tried to push it much above 70 mph (granted there were no 70-mph zones anywhere in the USA when I owned that car).

Part of the reason I can't recall my total distance driven is that when I owned that Granada, I tried to drive either of my parents' cars whenever I had the opportunity because the Granada was such a clunker. Fan belts squealed incessantly regardless of what we did–the whole neighborhood knew whenever that car was on the move. So trying to keep mental track of how much I drove the various cars back then is a losing effort.

At least 450,000 miles.

If I pick an arbitrary average speed of 45 mph, that means I have sat behind the wheel of a car for about a year and two months. It is almost surely longer than that.

I'm not sure I feel so good about that fact, but it is what it is.

I would like to be able to brag that I have gotten a car to over 300,000 miles with engine and transmission still in like-new condition, but as I get older I find I am less and less willing to put in the seat time required to make that happen.

I have to be well over 400K at this point.  I've watched my last 3 cars (including my current one, and all bought brand new) click over 100K miles.  My current car just hit the 100K mile mark on Sunday, rapidly catching up on my wife's car (which was my last one and is twice as old).  I'm averaging around 20K a year right now.

Why sell it?  It was just barely broken in!

Keeping it would have meant having to spend time and money:
1) Replacing the sway bars and possibly other pieces of the suspension since they were worn out
2) Replacing the battery, since it still had the original one after 5 years
3) Changing the timing belt, because you need to do that at 100k
4) Changing the engine air filter, because you need to do that at 100k
5) Doing a transmission flush, because you need to do that at 100k
6) Doing a radiator flush, because you need to do that at 100k
7) Diagnosing the specific cause of an emissions issue and fixing it so the check engine light would go off

There are people who enjoy doing work on their cars as a hobby. I am not one of them. When a car gets to the point where it requires significant non-trivial maintenance, I am more than happy to make it someone else's problem since I don't want to deal with it.

I also appreciate having a car that is reliable enough for me to not worry about suffering any sudden critical mechanical failures. The Focus had already failed me once in this regard and after that I wasn't comfortable taking it too far from home for fear of breaking down in a distant location. As a roadgeek who loves going on epic trips, that really cramped my style and was not okay.

Meanwhile I also had an opportunity to get a nice young car for a good price because my father had a lease that was ending. But that was time sensitive, I either made the trade-in then or paid more for a similar car with less known history later.

In just over 36 years of being a licensed driver, between parents', relatives', personal, and work vehicles, I've driven approximately 550,000 miles.

Inspired to update this after reading that jayhawkco reports having flown the equivalent of going to the moon and back and then halfway there again (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=29244.msg2647195#msg2647195), and Rothman saying he's driven that much about 3 times over, I searched for and decided to post an update to my guess for miles driven here in this thread.

In the 10+ years since my quoted post, the S60 got up to 189,000 miles and my A3's now over 51,000.  I didn't drive all of those, but I am responsible for driving a good chunk of the miles on various road trips in other cars, whether my wife's or rentals.  Pretty conservatively, I can say that I've passed 750,000 miles driven in what is now 35 years.  With less certainty, the number could be 850,000-900,000 or more.

I think I low-balled my number.

I do have a trucker friend that got his 1,000,000 mile award.

The ballpark figure I came up with are as follows:

Cars I've owned; 551,000 approximate miles
Cars I've rented or were assigned to me at work; approximately 60,000 miles

I once held a job where I actually drove about 81,000 miles for work related purposes in a single year.  I had a 65,000 mile year that followed that up which would account for about 25% overall total.  Apparently that comes out to just a little under 27,000 miles annually since I obtained my learner's permit at 15.  I'm fairly certain I've driven over 10,000 miles in off highway vehicles but much of that was a long time ago.

Since I inspired the bump, I figured I might as well come up with an answer, even if just estimated.

First Car - 45,000
Second Car - 90,000
Third Car - 48,000
Fourth Car - 75,000
Fifth Car - 65,000
Sixth (and current) - 17,000
Rental Cars/UHauls - 17,000
Other People's Cars - 6,000

Total: 363,000 miles.  Seems about right.  If you include ridden miles, as I've taken a lot of buses/mini-buses/shared cards when I was overseas, then the number goes up a bit, probably another 15K or so.

In 48 years of driving (got my license in 1973) I would estimate between 1 million and 1.5 million miles.  About 250,000 of those miles have been on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway alone, with 26 years of commuting to and from work (pre-COVID, anyway).  9 years of soccer trips, 30-plus years of vacations with 1,200 to 2,200 miles per trip on rental cars, work trips, journeys back home after I graduated from college and moved away -- it all adds up.  At least five cars with over 150,000 miles each.

For about 1.5 years, I drove a delivery route that averaged around 300 miles per day, five days a week.  I'm sure I must have topped 100,000 miles in the truck during that time.

Since I posted this in 2015, I really have no idea on miles driven because in May 2017 my wife got an Acura TLX that is now our primary car for trips and I haven't kept track of how far I've driven that. I know I drove it 2499 miles on a trip to St. Louis, another 2600-something on a trip to Florida this year, and over a thousand miles on a trip to Toronto in 2019, but I have no clue about all the shorter-distance trips (including 140-mile roundtrips to our favorite winery). On the other hand, I put very few miles on my TL these days precisely because we use the TLX for trips now. For the entire calendar year 2020 I drove my TL a total of 1513 miles because I now work out of the home office on a permanent basis with extremely rare exceptions.

Updating totals from my first post above:

Subaru Forester (current main road trip car): over 152K miles
Toyota Prius (former main road trip car, now just for local travel): over 315K miles
Nissan Titan (replaced by Forester, after three breakdowns during my 2017 mega-road trip): over 182K miles
BMW 3-series (replaced by Prius, after the BMW was totaled by a drunk driver): over 194K miles
Honda Accord (replaced by Titan, died from old age): over 180K miles, not counting 102K miles by previous owner
Honda Prelude (replaced by Accord, after Prelude sold to buy my condo): only about 20K miles

Total for those six cars is over 1043K miles. I've owned five or six other cars, but I don't know how much mileage I put on those.  Plus, I've put a lot of miles on rental cars (much to the rental companies' consternation), but I don't have a total on those.

I was actual a district security manager for a retail chain.  My original work area was just Arizona but everyone else kept quitting so I picked up California, Nevada, western Texas and New Mexico.  We had a weird company requirement that every store needed a monthly visit and audit.  I ended up buying a Ford Fiesta as a work car for about 16k out of a dealership in Scottsdale.  My mileage per diem was about $0.50 cents on the mile after home store commute.  Some of my weekly mileage vouchers would be as high as $500-$800 dollars which was a hugely profitable venture with the Fiesta averaging 42.4 MPG.  After about three years I had to decide if I wanted to reinvest with another car and stay on or take another job.  I ultimately took a job with the DOD at NAS Key West and went back to something a little more normalized.

Of note; my meal allowance was up to $45 dollars a day which would be only reimbursed on what I spent.  My hotel allowance was $150 a night and sure made it a point to pad the hell out of my rewards points.  I had points in reserve for almost three years after I quit.  I was single at the time and easily spent 100 plus nights a year in a hotel.  I absolutely loved the travel aspect since the company I worked for only cared if I put in 40 hours a week and claimed the most direct routes between stores.  I ended up seeing 24 National Parks, who knows how many National Monuments and almost fully clinched Arizona in the process.  I think my wife would only be willing to tolerate me being gone maybe about 50% of what I describe above.

I'm going to guess 550,000 to 600,000 over 31 years of driving. For a while there, my work was only 4-8 miles round trip, or my job included taking the bus for free, but it was tough getting more than one day off at a time.

1st car: 50k
2nd car: 12k
3rd car: 162k
4th car: 25k
5th car: 40k
6th car (current): 103k
Wife's cars: at least 30k, lots of errands and trips
Friends/family/company/go-karts/customers' vehicles: 2-3k

Rentals: 10 years at approximately 12-15k miles annually. I finally counted up last year's rentals, and found it was 27,000 in lieu of flying. So maybe I've undercounted that for a while, hence the 50k difference.

Current car: 70K (started at 65K, now at 135K)
Rental cars: About 3K, all in the past 2 months

A lot of that time spent while working, so in terms of range I haven't driven all that far away from home base.

In about 47-ish years of driving (back then you could get a restricted license at 15) ...

I would guess around  600,000 miles.

I just hit 160,000 miles on my Camry (which had 9 miles on it when I bought it in 2007), and I probably put about 3,000 miles on my wife's Kia Soul while my Camry was out of commission for a while.

I had a 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 when I was in high school (...in 2001...), but it had major issues (it only cost $500) and I probably only drove the thing maybe 10 miles before it died.

The 455 V8 was still available in 1973 and wouldn't have been fully emissions neutered yet.

I have had my drivers license for a little over a year now. I got my learner's permit about a year before I got my license. So, I've only been driving for about two years.

I've driven 800ish miles in my car (almost exclusively in-town driving), but that figure is higher in my parents' cars, for two reasons:

-Their cars are the two that I learned to drive in, accounting for all my the miles driven in my first year of driving.

-On family trips, I often take a turn at driving, especially if we are driving over long distances. This has allowed me to drive in nine states so far (MO, KS, AR, TN, MS, AL, GA, FL, OK; in that order). I'll estimate that I have driven 2-3k miles between the two vehicles.

This adds up to about 3-4k miles driven.

The car I drive is a hand-me-down from when one of my parents bought a new-to-them (used) car. The older car is about ten years older than the 'new' one, and what a difference that makes. I learned to drive in the new car because of all the different safety features it has. As far insurance goes, I made an agreement with my parents, where the terms were: they will pay the insurance initially, because they didn't want me to get a job due to COVID and school last year. It's not too expensive, because of the my low annual mileage, and the car isn't worth very much. That is counteracted to an extent by the fact that I am a teenage male.

I'd be surprised if I was over 100,000 miles. I usually put only 8,000 miles a year on my car, including road trips, and for many years, I didn't have a car at all.

Insurance for a kid is expensive no matter how many miles you say they drive.

My previous car had about 225,000 miles on it, and my current car I am putting approximately 24,000 miles/year on it.

Does that mean you bought them brand new?

Because my car has more than 228,000 miles on it, but only about 70,000 of them are our miles.

The old one was new, but broke down after only 16 years! The new one was given to us by our grandparents with 2500 miles on it, now it is at 91,250 after 3.5 years. My dad has had about 4 previous cars in his life and he commutes 60 miles a day so all of his previous cars..don't remember the exact total but all of his miles add up to about 500K-750K, and I have probably driven 40-50K miles in my lifetime.

I call BS that someone who got a license in January 2019 and lives in New York City, and makes comments on this forum that seem to reflect not having driven much outside of New York State (especially comments about exit numbering), has "driven" 40,000 to 50,000 miles in his lifetime. "Travelled" 40,000 to 50,000 miles by car, sure. That's plausible. But "driven"? I highly doubt that and I suspect "driven" is being used to refer to car travel in general, including as a passenger (like how my wife might say "we drove to Florida in May" even though she didn't do any of the driving).

(Edited to add a point to clarify my thought process.)

It is possible to drive that much without leaving your state (in 2020, I put about 35K on my car without leaving Western WA mostly because of work). For a multi-state metro like NYC, however, it's less plausible.

Oh, I know it's possible, but given the types of posts he's made, I strongly suspect that in his case it is highly improbable. I suppose the timeframe also bears noting in view of most people's generally-reduced travel during 2020.

I've only driven in 5 states, NY, NJ, CT, PA, and MA.

Actually I drove more for fun during 2020 because with 97% of the traffic gone I could finally floor it on the highwys.

And that's the end of that.  Threw a rod on Friday evening.

Purchased another vehicle yesterday.  The used car market sucks right now, in case you didn't know, and I was hoping my car would last long enough to outlive the current situation, but no such luck.  It's in the shop now, getting its first round of repairs, then I'll take it to one more shop after that for another repair.

(I now realize that I probably had a loose rod for about 8,000 to 10,000 miles but thought it was occasional valvetrain clatter instead.  I've driven to and from work every day like that, all around the area running errands and deliveries, one trip to Kansas City, and another trip to Galveston just six weeks ago.  It finally broke free 2½ blocks from my house, didn't totally seize up, and I was able to limp home and park on the street right in front of the house.  God is good!)

Before I had a car of my own, I did some driving in my dad's car, on a few road trips too, but not that much I suspect. Probably 3  to 4 thousand in his car. I had a few cars before my dad helped me buy my 2018 Fusion. On the most recent one, I put on about 10,000 and probably the same or a little less total on all the cars before then. I'm closing in on 10,000 in the Fusion now. I'd put an estimate for me at about 30 to 35,000 miles driven on my own so far. If I had to nail a number down, I'd say somewhere about 32,000 miles.

My first car I added about 30,000 miles before trading it in. So far I've added about 70,000 miles on the second car. So roughly 100,000 total in my 11 year driving career
