Not suggesting a meet, but didn't know if anyone in the forum are runners. Maggie and I are seriously contemplating participating in the Cooper River Bridge Run which is a 10k that includes crossing over the Cooper River Bridge. It will be held on Saturday, March 31st.

If they're doing a 5K, I'm game (duty-permitting). Don't think I could hold out for a 10K.

I did eight miles for the first time last weekend. It was a run.walk and we did it at a 13:50 a mile pace. There's plenty of time to get in shape for one; we've been doing the Couch to 5k and Couch to 10k programs.

The toughest part is that we are looking at doing a hockey trip the weekend before as the Canes play in Columbus and Detroit on the Friday and Saturday before the race and we may extend the trip into Toronto for the Canes/Leafs game there on Tuesday. So we're not sure, but it is certainly a race we would love to run!

I would be interested, especially if a meet materializes around it. (Cool down around 10-11 AM, meet lunch at 12, etc.) It's a bit far to go just for a 10K without a secondary excuse.
