Sounds like a drug or chemical that one would use like the use of certain drugs, however dopamine is a chemical all of our human brains create. In fact dopamine is why we feel pleasure during getting drunk or for those of us looking at porn and even enjoying a snack.

I was wondering, as my therapist claims it to be responsible for many common addictions especially alcohol and substance abuse. He says once dopamine becomes active it's permanently embedded in your brain hence why alcohol is an incurable disease as well as other addictions including food.

Does anyone believe in that situation or explanation. I would believe the medical or mental health academic community, but after the quack therapists I've been assigned to in the past, I'm skeptical and take all interactions with shrinks very carefully.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

I don't think that description is as accurate as neurologists would like, but it does get the gist of it.
