I think that I've finally nailed the perspective on wanted on CA 198 dipping towards Warthan Creek west of Coalinga in Warthan Canyon.  I never really have been able to get the dip of road quite right.

Bear Valley Road (Mariposa County Route J16) in Hornitos, CA.  This was the only incorporated city in Mariposa County and apparently received gas revenue when it was fully depopulated the mid-20th century.

Madera County Road 601 at the Mariposa County line.  This was the primary highway between Oakhurst-Mariposa until CA 49 was extended in the 1960s.
