If you were to look at this photo, you might first think it's New York due to the use of a box girder guard rail.  Though it's really not a photo, but if it were one without the help of Google, it would appear that way anyway.

However, it's in Illinois. One of the few instances box girder is used outside New York.

Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

The flatness gives Illinois away.
Obviously you have never travelled on I-57 south of Mt Vernon or US 20 by Galena. We actually do have rolling hills and bluffs in this state.

I lived in Illinois.  The meme speaks to me, blame not me for I was shown the way by Lord Carhorn.

Hey, what are MUTCD three digit US 395 shields doing in California?

Actually, what gave it away was...  the Cairo bridge in the background!

Yeah, District 9 (Carbondale) goes its own way here.  No one else in the state (District 1-8, CDOT, or ISTHA) uses that.

Box beam guardrail is standard issue in Wyoming, of all places, at least on Interstates. It's neatly integrated with the standard metal bridge guardrail, too. Here's the first place I looked: https://goo.gl/maps/HDMs2v9UuJZaPNgC7

Caltrans uses its own exit gore sign... oh wait, nowadays Caltrans has started to use FHWA-spec gore signs, for years now!
