Title: Unusual perspectives and optical illusions
Post by: wanderer2575 on August 03, 2022, 12:00:27 PM
Nothing unusual about the signs themselves, but when seen at a certain angle or under a specific condition you might do a double-take.

I originally posted this in the "Unique, Odd, or Interesting Signs" thread in Traffic Control, but it fits better here.  This is northbound M-10 at I-696 and US-24 in Southfield.  The road jogs slightly to the right just before the gantry, so from a distance the left EXIT ONLY appears to point to the second left lane:

No, it's not wrong-way traffic.  The carriageway is eastbound I-696.  The gantry is actually over northwestbound M-10 (can't be seen from this angle) just before it passes under I-696.
