I haven't made a challenge in a while, so I'll try one.  I don't remember doing this one before, but I wouldn't be surprised if we've done one or a close variation.

I recognized the photo, so I did a search for it. While the location is not given, he puts two photos in the same post here (reply #23), and the other photo narrows down the possibilities a lot.

San Diego isn't really much of a help as it's just the next control city. The actual location is Exit 144.

Photo taken from a WSDOT Ferry looking at the docking point onto Lopez Island.  This was an interim stop between Anacortes and my intended destination of Friday Harbor, so I took a picture of this while I waited aboard to continue.

The next day, on board.



And the day after that, taken from the Matanuska, of the first real sunset we saw in a while since it was pretty light for almost all the time we were farther north in late June.

Those are some really neat roads/signs, and as a result it makes for a neat challenge. I don't think I ever realized that the Wisconsin Rustic Roads existed.

This picture is from Tom958's post in the "Your Opinion As A Motorist: Contrasting Lane Lines" thread:

Interstate 85 in Atlanta, GA after they rebuilt the bridge after the fire happened there several months ago now - the contrast striping on the left (on the double-dashed white lines) is what is normal for Georgia to use on concrete roads, but the kind on the right is not standard practice for Georgia - here on the I-85 viaduct in Atlanta (just northeast of I-75), after the closing for repairs, is the only location in Georgia where I have seen this kind of contrast striping used:

I cannot express in words how much I absolutely love these signs!!!!!   


My first contribution to this challenge is from off of Interstate 75 Southbound in the Chattanooga area right before reaching the interchange with Interstate 24 (which marks I-24's eastern terminus):
