Lightning, then thunder 1 second later. It must be really close.
Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

Hurricane Irma is coming up to my state, and I'm waiting to evacuate. I had some phone calls from relatives urging my family to gas up our cars (done), and one from a friend of the family to evacuate immediately.

Thick smoke. Raining ashes. Humid weather.

Without the smoke, it would be mid-90s, so I'm thankful...but my lungs aren't.

The weather here is the most beautiful September weather I can ever remember. Feels more like fall. As I type this at 11:40 Sunday morning, it's 67°F and not a cloud in the sky.

God bless vain young women....yesterday at the football game in Charlottesville, the young lady sitting in the row in front of us was wearing a nice low-cut cleavage-baring top that clearly revealed goosebumps everywhere as our side of the stadium fell into late afternoon shadows, but she wouldn't cover up...  :hyper:

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"

Overcast all day.  Awaiting Hurricane Irma, all they way into middle Georgia.

A cold front swept thru a couple of days ago & brought us a few days of low humidity & temps 10 degrees below normal. Highs in the low 80s low humidity & very comfortable night temps in upper 50s-low 60s. Open the windows & turn off the ac for the 1st time since March loving it.

Irma wasn't suppose to affect our weather at all but with each new forecast her winds are predicted to get closer & closer. If the forecast proves correct we will have winds up to 50mph with heavy rain & thunderstorms but we are getting off easy compared to what the folks in the peninsula are dealing with.

With me living in Dalton, Georgia, which the effects of Hurricane Irma are creeping into, here we currently have both a Tropical Storm Warning and a Flash Flood Watch. Lots of wind and rain is headed our way, with some already creeping in. We may be expecting wind gusts of over 40 MPH.

As a result of the weather here, school has been closed both Monday and Tuesday of this week.
Now alternating between different highway shields for my avatar - my previous highway shield avatar for the last few years was US 76.

Now downgraded Tropical Storm Irma has passed through middle Georgia.  Very rainy but the wind has stopped.  Lots of small debris all over the property.  Very cool temperatures (low 60s).

We had high-70's yesterday, and will be in the high-70's, low-80's for a few more days.

Beautiful.  The smoke is gone, the sky is clear, and it's calm in the low 70s.

I'll be enjoying these last few sunny days before the inevitable arrival of our ass-tastic fall weather (wind storms + leaves blocking drains + not cold enough for snow = not as nice as winter).

Anything about road conditions further east of you, like I-95?

The long range forecast suggests a return to sun and 70s by the end of the week next week. I do like the rain, but I work outside, so I'll take dry weather for as long as I can.

I am on the extreme edge of Tropical Storm Jose (it's no longer a hurricane). Winds are noticeable, and it is lightly raining. This wouldn't be recognizable as the edge of a hurricane just by going outside and measuring rain and wind, though.

The "rainy" response by Roadgeekteen is also caused by being on the extreme edge of Jose. (Well, the rain is. The response might not be.)

Just a couple of spritzes of rain this afternoon, and a 20 MPH wind are all the effects we are feeling in CT from Jose.  Skies may even clear out tomorrow afternoon/

Probably only slightly worse for here in the Willi area. Gusts are blowing through my AC. :spin:
