I imagine modeling the shape of the terrain won't take much work...
I'll be excited when my home state is finished! And maybe then, the remaining states west of the Mississippi will get worked on, along with the other Great Lakes states.

Quote from: vtk on August 07, 2024, 07:03:39 PMI predict the next DLCs they announce will be South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois, in that order. Then maybe North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, in that order, with Louisiana possibly inserted somewhere among those three.
I still believe all the states west of the Mississippi will be completed before the eastern half gets started. So ND, SD, MN, IA and LA would come first, then WI, IL, etc. would follow.
According to the devs, their main goal right now is Illinois, so I would imagine it will be next after Iowa.

That would be a logical place for the game developers to anchor further expansion efforts from. They can alternate between heading east, heading north or northwest, or heading south, to keep things interesting.

It was absolutely glorious that the first vehicle not a semi was an ASP Dodge Charger.  Their reputation on YouTube mandates their inclusion in the game and preview.

Glad to see them include the Bobby Harper Tunnel in the brief drive over the Boston Mountains. I was impressed by the NWA area signage as well. I looked at the Missouri Content on Steam and noticed something that appears to be Springfield Underground.

Edit: The first couple of scenes in the Missouri video are likely located on US 65 near Saddlebrooke.

It's the Bobby Hopper Tunnel.

ND and SD are baffling exclusions still.
It only seems right that the only state with I-49 that has not been covered is next in the pipeline. As for the Dakotas not being included in the game, perhaps they might be bundled with MN in a future batch of DLCs. With IL and possibly WI being the next two states up, it shouldn't be too long before the remaining states west of the Mississippi get worked on afterwards.

Perhaps they are trying to join the Best for Last Club.

I've been driving in Arkansas on American Truck Simulator today and I think I noticed an error. On I-30 in the southwestern part of the state, there's an exit in the game that has BGS'ses that say "Exit 44: US 167, AR 24; Prescott" - however, I think it was supposed to say US 371 instead of US 167 (based off of the real-life exit and highway system). I have to say though, I think this is the only error I've ever noticed in the game (at least that I can remember off the top of my head). Errors and inaccuracies are few and far between in this game, which has perpetually impressed me with how incredibly accurate and realistic it is. For example, on this very exit that I mentioned, there is a truck stop you can stop at and utilize (fuel, sleep, etc.) in the game, and on the real-life version of this exit, sure enough there is an actual TA Travel Center, and it is in the exact same quadrant of the exit that it is at in the game.

I also really like the new Arkansas DLC (well, I guess it's a few months old now, but it still seems "new" to me LOL), I think it turned out really well. I am also very much excited for the upcoming Missouri, Iowa, and Louisiana DLCs which I think are in line to be released next.

Yup. Still curious as to why ND and SD are excluded, though.

Probably because nobody wants to drive across them in real life for free, much less to pay for the privilege to do it on the computer.

Enough people put visiting ND off until they've done all the others that the state tourism board has a special certificate program for people who do that.

Hell, I live in a state that borders ND, and I was almost 25 before I visited it for the first time.
