All the games this weekend have been snooze fests.

They expanded the playoff to let mediocre teams in. What did you expect?
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
Wisconsin: counties 86%, highways 23%

The last two should be interesting. NFC has more depth this year.

The Packers/Eagles has been a particularly unpleasant surprise.  The Packers weren't playing great but the Eagles look pretty dreadful on offense tonight.

Wild card snooze fests aren't the worst thing. Usually means the best teams are moving on, leading to better games the rest of the way.

This is especially the case on the AFC side of the bracket, where the same four teams are headed to the divisional round as last year. That's mostly attributable to the Steelers getting pretty easily dispatched in the wild card in both seasons while the Bengals missed the playoffs entirely.

Of course the Bengals could've lost in the wild card too, but purely from an entertainment perspective AFC wild card weekend has been pretty lackluster and predictable without them involved.

All good.  Hurts hasn't played in a few weeks. As long as either the O or the D show up, usually that's all that matters.  Not every game needs to be a 40+ point affair.

Definitely not hurting the Eagles that they have the best Running Back in the NFL.  Barkley being able to move on the ground opened open some passing opportunities in the second half.

The Tampa/Washington game is turning out to be a nice watch.  We'll see if Washington can get a 23-20 lead shortly.

Commanders win with a game-winning field goal! Lions-Commanders is going to be a good game next weekend!

Good on them. Great to see that team and fanbase get a playoff W after a rough few decades.

Excellent hire for New England. Let's see if that still holds true come September.

Best doink for Washington since Game 7 of the 2019 World Series. To make the coincidences a little weirder, the player who hit that home run (Howie Kendrick) wore #47. The current placekicker wears...#47.
"You know, you never have a guaranteed spot until you have a spot guaranteed."

commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"

The fact that they still won by double digits does not bode well for the winner of tonight's Rams/Vikings showdown. I personally don't give either team much of a shot in Philly but the Rams having a better QB and more recent playoff success seem like a slightly more interesting/entertaining matchup. I just can't wrap my mind around the Vikings winning in that environment but I'd certainly be more than happy for them to prove me wrong.

I've been critical of Jordan Love in the past, and not to be punny, but I don't understand the "love" for him. He's a bang average QB for me, and last night didn't move the needle on my opinion as far as I'm concerned.

In Arizona?  I certainly can see the Vikings pulling off the win tonight.  The Rams have been consistently wonky all season and grabbed a bad division.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the crowd is wearing mostly purple with all the snowbirds who live down there.

Certainly agree that the Vikings have a decent shot tonight, but I was referring to them winning in Philly in my previous post.

As most of you guys know, I'm a Vikings fan. I can see us winning the Super Bowl and I can also see us losing tonight because we can't control Puka and Cooper. For whatever reason, Philly is the team that's still remaining in the NFC that I'm least concerned about.

Max Rockatansky

I'm wondering if it will be a pro Vikings crowd tonight.  Arizona has a ton of Midwest transplants and almost every Lions game I went to against the Cardinals was a largely pro-Detroit crowd.  That and there is a whole lot of people who plain just don't like Southern Californian.

I said above that I expect the crowd to be majority Vikings fans.

This is fascinating because I couldn't disagree more.

Lions you know very well and despite just losing to them, recent experience tends to favor the losing team in the event of a rematch. Darnold obviously has to play better but if he does, plays can be made against their defense and I can see a path to the Vikings keeping up in a shootout.

Commanders are very high variance and lack playoff experience. You could get in a shootout with them but again I trust the Vikings there.

The Eagles are a ground and pound team with a lot of playmakers and a very good defense. Surprisingly I think they may be the least well-coached of the three, but I still don't see that matchup going well for the Vikings on either side of the ball, especially in a hostile road environment.

Not to harp on this too much, but I suspected that even when the game was going to be played at SoFi. Road teams tend to have strong showings in both LA and Phoenix to begin with, even before factoring in current events.
