Here is one of a few old school McDonalds standing around the country.

Here are clips of people touring old school McDonalds.

Minor things that bother me. It's creepy when people put their over-sized face on Youtube videos.

That's what the algo likes.

Add style points for pointing at something with mouth wide open.

Donora, PA - Located along PA 837, closed in the early 1980s. I have heard from area residents that this was the first McDonald's to close, though I have not seen any confirmation of this.

Very unlikely. By 1980 there were over 6,200 McDonald's. Stores come and go. Franchisees go for better locations. Stores in food courts and on toll rosds frequently change. Buildings catch fire or destroyed. Especially in that era, area residents would have no clue of the status of all those thousands of restaurants.

Besides, technically the first McDonalds to open was also the first McDonald's to close - in 1957.

A an unusual 3-story location in the middle of downtown Pittsburgh closed last year.  Done in brown brick, this store was arguably something of a local landmark.

The 1986 book McDonald's: Behind the Arches claimed that only one McDonald's had closed for business reasons, and that was due to a failed early attempt to enter Texas.  More have closed since then, but they rarely close due to poor sales.

Usually those seem to be AI generated thumbnails which signal AI generated content with scattershot "facts" that contradict each other.  Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Darn I went to that McDonald's before, and didn't think much of it to be honest. I didn't think it was a local landmark. Do you know why it closed, though?

^April 2009 is late for a McDonald's to still have an outdoor playground.
