Side note there will be a multi shared trail/path that will go under US 80 bridge and connect Westover Greenbelt northern Overlook and end next to Bio Life Plasma Services opening in March. Besides the Mesquite project, I suggest to nickname that interchange, the Mesquite interchange.

The interchange from "True Stories" will be no more. It really hasn't changed much since the 80s.

New Status Update

Aerial Lidar scanning has begun all over the interchange and Concrete barriers have now been moved under the ramp of 635 NB to US 80 WB. The Concrete barriers will be used to controll traffic. There is no specific day which Austin Industries will officially break ground in January 2025? I live nearby so I will checking on it occasionally.

This project has officially started and now for 3 years of more highway construction in Mesquite Texas. The Only time that you will experience all of the highways that cross through Mesquite that are under construction at the same time. Meanwhile while we wait for some official information on this project let's check out this recent aerial's photos of the neighboring 635 East Project.

Thanks for posting that link. It has a huge collection of of high quality images. Work on LBJ East is proceeding quickly with traffic mostly on new concrete.

The original double-T pylon remains standing at the center of the interchange (photo). I'm hoping to get some ground-level photos of it before it is demolished. It's difficult to photograph at this time, with the I-30 main lanes blocking the view. I'm thinking the I-30 main lanes will be demolished first, which will provide a window of opportunity. Hopefully I'll be able to catch it.
