On the Interstate 90 eastbound Exit 106 off-ramp, a box truck driver made a dumb decision to take the curve too fast and damaged the signposts of this Food sign: https://www.nbcrightnow.com/news/eastbound-i-90-exit-at-ellensburg-reopened-after-semi-truck-crash/article_c01cb698-3df5-11ef-a26a-d36748490b0f.html

You can see the Food sign itself on the ground just to the right of the damaged posts.

Before it was damaged: https://maps.app.goo.gl/c8Qc5CBoTEtrDzfi8

On Interstate 82 in both directions, milepost 13 needs to be repaired. On the eastbound side, the mile marker fell off the post, and on the westbound side, there was a recent brush fire in the median—probably human-caused!—that jumped the freeway on the westbound side and damaged the milepost. The fire itself was otherwise quickly contained.

In Kittitas, Washington, just before the Interstate 90 westbound on-ramp, this sign fell off:

This is on Interstate 90 westbound, just past milepost 87. I can't really even explain what happened, as the sign is protected by a guardrail, and the guardrail isn't damaged, so it definitely wasn't from a crash. However, it most definitely requires repairs:

When it was last standing: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Eeg9BX4hnUjKCNjT7

Looking at my drive videos, it was still standing when I took my drive to St. Helens, Oregon, on April 16, and it was down when I was coming back from my drive to Cornelius, Oregon, on June 11, so it happened sometime between those two dates.

On Washington State Route 821, mile marker 21 was melted due to a wildfire the other day:

Before the damage: https://maps.app.goo.gl/4K3DzpL9aJZhWpQ77

The post is fine since it's telespar. Photo is from a video I took from my phone, so I'll take a better photo later, but for perspective, the damage to mile marker 21 on SR 821 is worse than the aforementioned damage to mile marker 13 on I-82 westbound in my previous post. Although in both cases, they will need to make a new sign.

The fire was on the other side, but in that one spot, it happened to jump the highway, and it happened to be where the milepost is.

I will say that many of the bigger signs along I-70 between Avon and Denver are in dire need of replacement.

From peeling text which makes reflectivity  non-existent, and signs where text letters completely peeled off.

A few advanced guide signs have shields that are severely peeling off (I-70 EB @ CO-91) or are missing altogether I-70 WB @ US-40/Empire).

CDOT can't even rivet a metal shield over the peeling/missing shields,.despite the issues being there for multiple years now???

On the Interstate 90 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 109—yes, this exit again, where idiots keep breaking things—the third chevron sign was crashed into, I think, sometime during the day on August 14. It was repaired sometime the following day on August 15, only to be crashed into again later that day. It has yet to be repaired again. The only "silver lining," if you can call it that, is that at least it wasn't the fourth chevron sign again, which had been crashed into two or three times before these crashes involving the third chevron sign:

On Interstate 90 westbound, just past milepost 135, this entering apple maggot quarantine area sign needs to be repaired. The right post was burned by a recent brushfire. It was still standing for a while after the brushfire, but eventually, the post just gave way:

Interstate 90 westbound at Exit 179 in Moses Lake.

The hinge on the left I-beam post has come loose and the sign is easily going back and forth with the wind, so it could easily eventually fall. I went ahead last night and made a single sign urgent report about this. The sign itself also appears to be separating.

This sign has already been repaired once in early 2023, around January. I didn't notice it the first time before it was repaired, a friend of mine told me it was down. Not sure what happened that caused it to snap, especially since it's still a relatively new post, being just slightly less than two years old.

Westbound also repaired! But a very odd choice was made to maintain the existing fire-damaged mile marker instead of making a new one. I wonder why. My mom thought perhaps it's temporary while they make a new one, but they went ahead and got a new post in and kept the sign just to have something. Is that a thing?
