Shenanigans

Just found this place and decided to stop in and say, "hi!"

I've always had an interest in the unused/dilapidated sections of interstate that pockmark our country as well as tunnels.  Traveled the PA Turnpike and I-80 a ton growing up.  It was always a game to try to spy the old tunnels that are no longer in us there.

Here in FL we don't have many (any) tunnels, but given the urban sprawl there is always some interesting road construction/urban planning going on.

You do have one tunnel.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdWBO94JGHc - and welcome!

The Henry Kinney Tunnel in downtown Fort Lauderdale on US 1 is a great little ride, day or night.

We may eventually get a second tunnel from Miami to the Port of Miami if the powers that be ever come to a decision.

Welcome to the board. I recently lived in Orlando and can attest to the sprawl there. Having a Sunpass in the area is a must, but if you know your arterials well enough, you can get around as best as you can without paying tolls. I devised two commute routes that confused most people and even savy cartographers.  :sombrero:

Welcome! I too lived in the Orlando area and fully agree about having a Sunpass to navigate the area. The only thing with some of the arterials though is you have to know the right time to be on them (such as FL 436 and FL 50), otherwise you are pretty much stuck.

Howdy, Neighbor!

[Couldn't resist it.]
So many roads...so little time.
