Mr. Beast Burger?

Last night, something called "Mr. Beast Burger" trended on Twitter. I'd never heard of this brand before. Has anyone else?

Their online presence indicates they're a carryout or delivery-only service offered as an adjunct to an existing foodservice operation.

Many of the tweets in the trend indicated the burgers are typically burned on the outside and raw in the middle.

It's one of those "ghost kitchen" concepts that focuses only on serving customers via delivery services. It's owned by the famous YouTuber Mr. Beast, I think he's in the top 15 most subscribed YouTube channels now. I actually used to be subscribed to him back when he had just a couple hundred thousand and he was making fun of crappy YouTube intros.

That's kind of funny if people are saying the burger quality is trash.

:) Needs more... :sombrero: Not quite... :bigass: Perfect.

Ghost kitchens are quite interesting. In one case, "Pasqually's Pizza and Wings" turns out to be straight from the kitchens of... Chuck E. Cheese. BeastBurger reportedly comes from Bertucci's, Buca di Beppo and other chains.

Pizza works great for delivery because you can reheat it (oven, pan fry) and in most cases it's just as good. A burger in a bun with fixings... not so much. Fries... if there's more than a few minutes (or about 100 feet) between the fryer and your plate, forget it.

This probably explains why the burgers are terrible since they're being made by places that don't make burgers. Also explains why anytime I've gone to Bertucci's in the past year I've waited forever for food, because apparently delivery YouTube burgers now take priority.

I've been to Bertucci's a few times in the past year (in Andover with outdoor seating and at the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem NH for takeout) and have never had any problems with wait times.

I also saw something about Mr. Beast at Red Robin, which does make burgers.

Don't try North Andover or Chelmsford then for dine-in. You'll start to see how Chapter 11 was a new chapter in their business story.

I completely forgot about the Chelmsford one, which I was at once during the pandemic. Yes, that one was bad.

North Andover was the one I was typically at before the pandemic, and they had no problems. I haven't been there since the pandemic began since they don't have outdoor seating.

When I think of Beast Burger, I think of the Beast Burger at Cornwall's Pub in Kenmore Square.  Comes with mozzarella and chili on the burger.  Soooo good

I know nothing about Mr. Beast other than people constantly telling me "You're from North Carolina? DID YOU KNOW MR. BEAST IS FROM NORTH CAROLINA TOO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!".

I hear this far more than I should and I don't know why.

I thought the Pasqually's rebranding was done so people would order delivery or carry-out from them during the virus closures.

The nearest locations to me are in Louisville, and they indicated they offer pickup as well as delivery. I know Louisville has at least one Buca di Beppo location in the area, but I haven't checked to see if the address for one of the Mr. Beast places matches up to the Buca location I know of.

Ghost kitchens are the devil.

Some of them aren't properly marked on driver-side apps, so we're left googling to find out what their actual address is. And many of the kitchens are under multiple names accepting all their orders, so they are usually very late with their orders. I've added most to my personal blacklist as a delivery driver, because it's a waste of my time and jeopardizes my ratings from customers.

hotdogPi

I just went to Bertucci's in Andover today. There were two signs on the front advertising "MRBEAST BURGER", or if you read it wrong, "MBREAST BURGER".

There were a few minor issues, but it was still a decent meal. Once we ordered, the food came in the standard amount of time and correctly.

I think what boggles my mind the most is the sheer number of locations that they have making the food. Literally over 600 already, all across the US and now expanding into Canada and Europe.  :wow:

That might be an indication of why the quality is questionable.

I'm actually impressed that thus far no one over the few years he's been giving away money has found a catch.

Unlike the guy from Toll Brothers who was "giving" away money thru some shady app that Jack Dorsey was also an investor in.

Why have I never heard of this "Mr. Beast" character?  Or is this some sort of "Millennial" thing?

I doubt this is actually the case. Why do like, half of the people I meet under the age of 21, who doesn't live in North Carolina, think that by living in North Carolina, I must know this guy or have seen him before? There's 10.4 million people here. It's not like you see random celebrities all the time by driving around Los Angeles or New York, so why would that be the case for a state with a population less than those place's metro populations, and with one person who lives in a pretty unremarkable part of the state?

You're mixing millennials up with the current generation, gen Z. The oldest millennials are are in their 40s now if you count that generation as starting in 1980.

I just saw Mr. Beast Burger pop up in Door Dash today.  I looked up the address and it is the same as Hwy 55 over here.

Bumping into celebrities in cities happens more often than you think.
